Rich, that is a GREAT WC of the adobe structure!
Good balance of warm and cool color and I love how you treated
the "grass" in the foreground! What a nice painting.

I have been touting the benefits of keeping a sketch journal;
a mixed media spiral bound (in my case) where I try to draw something every day,
even if its just a vignette of something from my day.
The pages are never torn out.
It's a sketch diary. On any given day, I can choose, ink, pencil, marker,
crayon--whatever and color the sketch or just leave it.

On this day, I had lined up the necessary ingredients for making my
enchilada casserole recipe and went and grabbed my sketch book and pencil lined it out right on the breakfast bar.
I had to cook so I did the ink lines and color later that evening.
Ink over pencil lines, Winsor-Newton Watercolor wash.

Thanks Patty!

WoW! I really like your recipe sketch. What a neat idea. The stack of tortillas is wonderful! Colors of everything are great! Love it! Well done!

Thanks Rich,
I love doing "cooking & food" vignettes. Especially in ink and dip pen.
The mixed media spiral bound that I'm using is ok for one or 2 watercolor washes so
if I want to go with deeper color, I'll use colored pencil. (or markers!)
It's just good practice to do a little every day.
The other day, I vacuumed the house so my Miele vacuum cleaner was the sketch.
LOL..nothing fancy. It may take a few days to fill one page with little freehand sketches.

I dug this out of my art computer file. Wanted to use this for my Christmas card this year and also to show you the frost on window effect you can achieve. I used plastic wrap on this one. Getting a wash on the background and laying plastic wrap on it. You can fold or crinkle it but let it dry without moving it. Wax paper works but crinkle up too. Practice first!

I love your frosty window painting, Rich!
That is a cool technique that I will try soon!
I love doing practice pieces and I do save them for future reference too.
I love that cool blue!

Love the P&I Patty. I really like that medium.

Plastic wrap - that really works well and is a good effect for that Christmas scene Rich.

Micheal, wow, nice manip!

I dug this little still life from an old file.  Tulips. Not sure when, where or why I did this one.
