Post your other non-phtographic art here.

Since I have so many photos of old homes, barns and sheds, I thought I would brush up on my perspective drawing.
Eventually do some ink and wash work.
"Pencil only" is not my preferred medium, just how we do a draft before inking.
Since it's just practice, I left it at this.

1 point perspective

I think my original photo link has been broken.
Will see if this fixes it

Very nicely illustrated. I keep thinking more and more about starting to do some pen and wash again, and maybe watercolor. I did some cleaning in my room today but didn't get around to really tidying up my art desk. I need to do that.

Thanks!
I got back into drawing from cleaning out my supply cabinet and bringing my drafting table up from the basement.
Once I took stock of everything and organized it all, it has just been nice to just do some sketching and color.
I'm not good with water colors, but it doesn't matter as long as I enjoy it!
I hope this topic gets more posts too!
I feel "safe" posting my sketch work here!

I did this with a Speedball dip pen using the #0 nib. It was very scratchy and probably broke the surface of the paper.
I did this in a Canson Mixed Media pad, 98 lb smooth white finish.
I have since purchased a Tachikawa nib holder and Japanese G nibs that are a bit smoother and seem to hold more ink.
I'm still looking for the best paper for dip pen inking.
I did look at this file in FlickR and it isn't as sharp as the original after reducing the size (even using reduce with bicubic sharpen)
Limes & Bananas drawn from life.
Using hatching for shading.

I was going through some old folders on my computer and came across one called "art". I found this sketch of a pear that I did some time back using color pencils. I might share some of the other works as we go along.

That looks pretty nice, Don!
The color and handling of highlights looks awesome!
I have come to really enjoy CP.
It's a great medium for sketch booking.
It doesn't have to be anything more than a study in drawing enjoyment.
I hope to see more!

The highlights you created really make this look realistic. Nice work, Don.

I did this pen and wash quite some time ago from a photo of a church in Telluride.

That came out so nice, Don! The colors are beautiful!
I like the mix of hatching and shadows. It looks really good.
I had to look up Telluride: wow...beautiful place.

I have been doing mostly ink line and wash lately;
mostly in a large spiral bound Canson mixed media book and very hard to scan.
I've been practicing small vignettes related to food and cooking
that I can use to embellish recipe cards.

Patty, the one point perspective Is very good. Good shadows, trees and hills.

The fruit still life super.

Don, amazing pear! Well done!
The church scene is great! As Patty said, nice shadows.

Keep up the amazing work. When I finish a painting I am doing for my Grandson I will post it.
