Hi Grant!
We didn't have any seclusion requirements here in the Southern USA, thankfully.
No forced masking or shutting in. Some states were more strict than others.
Crazy times.
I couldn't stand to be shut in.
Lorell, those are some beautiful stove works.
I always wanted a Franklin, but they were out of our price range back then.
We used to heat our house with just one wood burning heater/stove.
I have one in the basement, but it's not installed. Stove pipe material is
off the charts expensive.
I also have a small Atlanta Stoves Works Laundry "stove" too. 2 eyes and could be used with coal or wood.
Cast iron: found it on a junk pile at the end of someones driveway in south Florida (of all places)
back in 1979/80.
I love the big walking wheel. Cool photo!!
If I was a little younger I would have one, but I already have 2 downstairs
(smaller foot powered ones)
Those are called "walking wheels"...step to the side to spin the big wheel, step to the spindle side to twist the fiber and wind it up on the spindle.
Nice to see one fully intact. There is one at a local antique shop but the spindle is missing and I'm not sure what the age of it is.
Quint, that is a cute house! Looks a lot like the one we had when we moved to GA from Florida.
I'll have to dig around for a photo.
Thats a nice chimney and porch too!
Looks like a pretty place.
Lorell, the catered food was excellent; Southern style green beans (is there any other way?)

Fried Chicken tenders, dressing, beef tips in gravy, mashed potatoes and melon medley
dinner rolls etc...lovely.
The pole barn is where the reception was. The ceremony was out doors and the old homestead was down the path
from the barn.
I don't think they would want people going in and out of the homestead. Its not a part of the venue rental so I just took the photo and didn't even go up on the porch.
We ride past here all the time, but you can't see any of this from the road.
(its a few miles from our house) so now our curiosity is satisfied.
I'll have some venue photos tomorrow. (need to resize for posting)
I don't know why after I preview my post, the text formatting goes double spaced and then I have to fix it.
