I am growing some beets this year and looking forward to making some, I love those beet greens too. Thanks, Steve......I do my mom's recipe for borscht.....it brings her back in memories when we eat it......I've never eaten the beet greens....how do you fix them? RE: Food - Quint - 04-07-2024 I just do them like spinach greens. Steam or gently boil them until soft but not overcooked. Delicious! RE: Food - Adamphotoman - 05-02-2024 BLT, RE: Food - Quint - 05-02-2024 Great looking BLT, Grant! RE: Food - Dreamin - 05-04-2024 Looks good, Grant! Is there egg in there too? RE: Food - Adamphotoman - 05-05-2024 Yes Egg and Cheese too! RE: Food - Quint - 07-23-2024 Summer harvest time is here and these wonderful tomatoes from the garden are so delicious in this caprese salad. RE: Food - Man From Ironbark - 07-23-2024 Can't wait until summer rolls around for the tomatoes alone. RE: Food - Quint - 07-25-2024 I start my heirlooms from my saved seeds in March here. Peppers too. It's been great growing weather here and I'm watering every morning and watching their progress each day. Hoping to get more ripe ones to enter in the county fair three weeks from now. RE: Food - Man From Ironbark - 07-25-2024 I'm sowing seed at this moment. There wiill still be frosts for a good while but IF they can be protected, they can make good before it gets too hot and dry even for tomatoes. I keep sowing seed in the hope that the season may be milder or longer so that more can be reaped after the heat and before it gets too cold again. |
