About 4:30 AM here and I've been awake for hours, so I figured I'd make myself useful by starting the Daily.

I did a lot of walking yesterday (nearly 5 miles) and got a few photos worth processing. This flower (sorry - I don't have an identification) caught my eye because of the clean colors. The photo turned out quite nice, so it needed very little processing...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

It is a simple and clean looking flower.  Once again, the olive green bokeh allow the flower to take center stage but remains and integral part of the composition.
I wonder if it is a wild Orchid.  Peter would know.

Natalie reminded me about your recent return to your painting days.  I hope you feel comfortable enough to share with us your current or recent work.  I am anxious to see your style or your approach to painting.

Here is some sort of wild flower from last year's archives.

Thanks Lorell. Another case of right place, right time, and a good light. It's about 90% SOOTC - I didn't even feel the need to adjust brightness/contrast.

Your photo just appeared. Beautiful! That's my kind of photo: a macro, of a plant, with light flowers against a dark and soft background.

Two things have delayed me in revisiting watercolor painting:

1) Sorting through my old (10+ years) supplies and replacing what's needed has taken a long time. But I should receive the last of the new supplies today.
2) My hand tremors make it hard to control my brushstrokes. I haven't found a way around this yet.

But I'll give it a go anyway, this time trying for an extremely loose and colorful style. I'm hoping to have some work to post by this weekend.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave's flower is one of the many Irises.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

That is a pretty flower, Dave, some sort of Iris.....maybe an African Iris...nice find! Nice treatment of your subject....love the contrast!
Lorell, you, too have nice flower that pops from the backdrop!  Not sure what your flower is, though.
Peter, you beat me to the ID!!
