That's quite a nice photo, Michael

I call this Confrontation. Two fence lizards, presumably both males, facing off. The one at the right is larger so probably the more dominant. I just missed getting a photo of this larger one doing pushups, which revealed a rather vivid blue coloration on the belly near the front legs. This is most likely (as someone here - probably MFI) pointed out a few months ago) a ritualized display asserting it's dominance in this small territory.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Pushups, hand waving and bright colours are all territorial communication. The bright colours possibly being more for attracting mates.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Michael,
Looks like some classics there! Focus and lighting right on!

Dave, neat capture! Definitely a territory face off!

Hi Peter!

Here is a video snapshot of the action at the Palace, April 2020, Cruise main event. Link is to a video I made.

Hi Michael!
That is some rich color on the book bindings that are marching towards the carving!
Cool photo!

Hi Dave!
I like the lizard stand-off capture!
Do you ever shoot video with your D7500?
The lizards may give you some nice B Roll!

Hello MFIB!!! Long time! I hope you and yours are all well!

Rich,
"...well my fuel injected stingray and a 413, were revving up our engines and they sound real mean"
stuck in my head for the rest of the day!
Very cool video!
You are in the Corn Capitol of the United states..where were all the John Deere harvesters?!!
Big Grin
Speaking of produce, the Vidalia Onions™ are out in the stores and produce stands!
If they ain't grown in Vidalia, Georgia they're imposters!

Patty,
Vidalia onions, MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE.
HURRAY, hallelujah, YIPPEEE.

Hey, Michael, thanks for starting our Tuesday daily.  I like that you added this to April's challenge as well.

Dave,
LIZARD VS. LIZARD.
Give me $10 on the one on the right.
  • Rich, that video has a little bit of everything.
  • An endless parade of cars
  • Great music (my foot was tapping the whole time and my head bopping back and forth from left to right)
  • Cool vintage autos driven by proud owner
  • Dogs in cars and trucks, make that barking dogs!
  • and dancing  Dinosaurs.

I REALLY enjoyed it.  As I was watching it, I remembered that today was Tuesday and Stahl's auto museum is open on Tuesdays.  I was ready to shut the computer off, grab my camera and run out there.  Really, it was almost like an involuntary reaction.  But I looked at the time and it was 2 o'clock and it takes about 45 minutes to get out there.  By the time I got dressed and did my hair, .... well, you know, it was too late to go.  But see the effect reaction to your video had on me?

Well, maybe I can't go grab some photos at Stahl's vintage car museum, but your video of the cars cruisng down the streets made me think of this photo.
I am not sure if you heard the song in the 70's for the FAYGO Pop Commercials, or if you even had FAYGO in the stores where you lived, but we heard this pleasant ditty over and over back in those days.  It was a great brand of pop and is still around.  My favorite flavor was GRAPE.  Loved it.
Here is the link to the commercial and song:  FAYGO REMEMBERS
In this video, you see parents and kids floating down the Detroit River on one of the two BOBLO boats that were headed to BOBLO Island where a huge amusement park awaited them.  I went there as a child and was lucky enough to take out own kids there when they were young.  It was a real summer treat.

Below my photo of the Faygo photos is a picture of the ST. Claire,  One of the BOBLO boats (borrowed from the internet).  The boats ran up and down the river all day long. Look closely at the flags on the front and back of the boat.  The amusement park was located in Ontario Canada and the Detroit flows between Canada on the right and USA on the left in this photo.  We can easily see Canada as we stand on the shores of downtown Detroit and for miles along the shoreline on either side of downtown.

Boblo Island Amusement Park is an abandoned amusement park that operated from 1898 until its closure on September 30, 1993. Its amusement rides were sold in 1994. The park was located on Bois Blanc Island, Ontario. It lies just above the mouth of the Detroit River.

Even if you are not familiar with the FAYGO product, I think you will enjoy the tune and sentiment that song shares.
And here's an image.
Have a good Tuesday

Hi, all! Just trying to catch up...
Michael, that's an interesting image with the vintage books! Kind of mysterious, like the titles sugges.....
Dave, love your lizard shot..I wish I had them here, but I have cats, so I imagine that's what happens to any lizards I should have!
Cool car, Rich! Glad you got your video back.....interesting cars in that drive by.....I see you got a pair of lizards, too!! Wink
Patty, I love Vidalia Onions! But I imagine in our area, they are imposters!!
Lorell, we did not have Faygo around here that I recall....tourists took a boat to an amusement park? Was that the only way to get there? Interesting commercial....for some reason I think of Charmin.... yes! Harold Peary did that commercial, too! Thanks for the memories!

Patty, thanks for looking at the video! Love the Beach Boys. I need to buy a couple of their CD's for the car!
Any JD tractors were out in the field or in the shed that time of the year.
Love the GA onions!

Lorell, thanks for looking at the video!
Glad you enjoyed, too bad about Stahl's.
COOL shot of the Faygo, good use of the fish eye lens. Cute commercial. We did not have that brand in the upper Midwest. Boat is pretty darn cool too!

Thanks Natalie for looking at the video. I think the lizard/dinosaurs were shaking their tail at the camera!

Natalie, yes, the only way to get to the amusement park was via boat. The amusement park was on an island.

Vidalia onions, IMPOSTERS. Holy Crap, can trust NOBODY these days. Geeez!
