A quiet Meal

Thanks for starting the Daily, Michael. That's a very good photo: the lines and forms make an excellent composition, you have a nice variety of textures, and the values are handled expertly.

I hope you don't mind me not keeping to the theme of indoor photography. On an early walk a few days ago a low ray of sun found it's way between houses and trees to adorn a single rose. It didn't last long, so I managed only a few photos.

The images below are different crops and adjustments of the same photo.

1) The unadjusted starting image - not much to see here...

2) After tweaking to stress the light falling on the rose, cropping just a little, and flipping horizontally...

3) Cropped to portrait orientation, deeper and richer oranges, and I had fun bringing out some blue and red-violet here and there...

Good Morning All.
Michael, like I said in a previous thread.  You can create an interesting and excellent composition out of almost anything.  I agree with Dave as he listed many of the appealing elements in this image. May I add that your title added to the mood you also created?

Dave, You really worked on this flower and brought out the wonderful colors and forms that it had to offer.  Do you shoot in RAW because you sure did retrieve a lot of beautiful details?

Good morning and Happy Easter.  Before I get started working in the kitchen to prepare for today's dinner with our kids and sister-in-law, I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter.

Blessing To All,
LORELL

Thanks Lorell.

Nice artwork; you combined the intricacy of zentangle with clean, simple, and skillful drawing.

Yes, I've been shooting in RAW for a while - must be 4 or 5 years.

Thanks, Dave.

Happy Easter.

Steve, pansies and spring are synonymous. Love the frog, love the yellow pansies.
