My Spinning Wheel
Dave: It's baking season!
I too have been cooking more than I normally do.
Trying new recipes, going back to some of my old classics and
using up supplies that need to be rotated out.
I have never made a fruit tart though!
Patty, I like the close up of the wheel. Looks like a nice one! Enjoyed viewing your bread in yetserdays Daily. Could almost smell it!
Stopped to take a photo of the Dignity Statue along the Missouri river bluffs at a rest stop. Was on my way back from the Black Hills in January, notice no snow. We will pay for that! A beautiful work of art. I have posted before but was such a nice day with a bright blue sky I thought you might enjoy again. Here is info.
Thanks Rich!
THAT is a stunning photo!
I love that I can’t get a sense of scale and that it appears
so large!
The sky was perfect!
Well, all the snow seems to be dumping on the mid Atlantic states.
More coming today, I think.

Beautiful shot of the spinning wheel, damar. It's a work of art and craftsmanship in itself, and your photo sure does it justice.
Rich, I remember the earlier photo(s) of this, and am very pleased to see it again. I agree with damar's comments - great photo. (It looks to be at least 40 to 50 feet (12-15 meters) tall. Is that a close estimate?)
My back is acting up again, but I managed a short walk. Came across this example of backlit leaves and stopped dead in my tracks to take a photo or two...
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks Patty!
It has been a strange winter here for sure!
Dave Thanks! Yes it is 50 feet high. Good guess!
The statue measures 50 feet (15.24m) high, 16 (4.88m) feet deep and 32 feet (9.75m) wide. The star quilt held by the woman has more than 100 blue diamond shapes that move in the wind "like an Aspen leaf".[7]
Lighting on your leaves is perfect! I can see why it got your attention!
Oh, that statue IS HUGE! WOW! And beautiful too.
Thanks Dave, sorry about your back. Nothing worse than back pain except for maybe migraine headaches.
Your back lit leaves are very pretty! Is that sea grape?
One thing I like about my photo is that the small leaf at the top is a different color - I think that adds some needed variety to the shot.
Rich, I looked at the benches in your photo and from there guessed at a 6 foot unit, then extrapolated that up to the top of the statue - it came out about 48 feet.
damar, I didn't know what a sea grape is, So I Googled it; the leaves appear to be a similar size, but their shapes are different. Since these small seedlings spring up around the bases of small trees that the city planted throughout the neighborhood, I assume they are young versions of whatever variety the trees are.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
