[Dave]

Good day or evening.

Here's another oldie: an Allen's Hummingbird taken in my backyard in 2014...

Some may have heard of the chemical leak in SoCal. Around 50,000 people are under mandatory evacuation, but even though it's only about 6 miles from my home, we're probably not at risk. Still, it's a pretty scary situation.

[Rich]

Yes Dave, I did see that story on the leak. Glad you are out of harms way.

Such an awesome photo of the hummingbird. Composition is perfect.

[Man From Ironbark]

A stunner Hummer.

[Dave]

Thank you both, Rich and MFI.

BTW, I misstated something about the chemical situation. It was a a potential gaseous leak that, fortunately has been avoided so far. Apparently they managed to cool the liquid chemical, then their was a small leak of liquid; this was a good thing because it was easier to control the leaking liquid than it would be to control a release of the dangerous gases into the air.

So while it's still a very serious situation, things are looking better.

Nice perch and I love his colors.

[Dave]

Thanks Quint.

The Allen's is my favorite of the hummingbird species found in my SoCal area.
