May 2023 Challenge - Look Up or Look Down

[Dave]

With the exceptions of dedicated Wet Belly and Astro photographers, we generally seek subjects at eye level.

But this can cause us to miss all sorts of photos, so every now and then consider making a conscious effort to look down or look up.

"Look Down" subjects could be: your feet, old or new boots or shoes you have on, ground cover plants, insects, street and sidewalk surface textures, and a lot more - including pebbles...

"Look Up" subjects might be: the moon, airplanes, skyscrapers, fireworks, tall trees, birds in flight, overhead cloud formations and more...

So, can we do both?

I do a lot of looking down.

Here's some pretty litter.

and here is looking up:

[Dave]

Thanks for jumping in so quickly, MFI.

That is indeed some "pretty litter."

And the X formed by the contrails bumps up your "Look Up" photo several notches.

Nice work.

[Man From Ironbark]

Thanks for enjoyng.

This is standing under Blue Water Bridge on the U.S. side.  The other end goes to Sarnia, Canada. I think it is neat that we are that close to another country.
I used my fish eye for this photo.

Here's one of a magnificent tree, taken in July of 2018...

I like the rocks Dave. I think I have a similar photo somewhere I will have to find and post. Nice crisp moon shot as well.

Nice colors in your "litter" there Peter. X marks the spot.

I like the bridge shot Lorell and the walker adds some human interest.

Love twisty trees Dave.

Here is a looking down entry of spray from a waterfall getting frozen. I thought it looked kind of interesting.

[Luv2shoot]

Wow, Don, an interesting find. Would have made a good “WHAT IZ IT?”.

Dave, That tree has a lot of character. Good find.

[Man From Ironbark]

Agree about the what is it.

Agree about Dave's tree shot.

[Man From Ironbark]

Here's another looking down shot.
The colour of this lichen is quite a dramatic contrast when it is seen on what is otherwise a dull day.

and another.
