July 2022 Monthly Challenge: Something New
#11
No, it is a big splotch, I guess. Really don't know, until two days ago I knew nothing at all about French Bulldogs. Actually, two days ago I didn't want a new dog, but, she is with us forever now. That's the rule. You come home with us, you are stuck with us.

"New", for me, Argus C3, circa 1950. The Brick.

Michael, that's a nice find! Do you have film for all your cameras and do you try them out? Do you develop and print your own?

This is an adders tongue, a type of fern and it is all new because these appear and disappear within a very short time space.

Steve has one Big Smoker. I have a table top PitBoss. Bought a roll around Resin AV Cart to give it a home. Both the cart and the smoker are NEW

Thank you. For some reason EBay is flooded with them right now. I picked up this along with an Argus 75 for $20 plus a few in shipping.
Most cameras I have film for, some though, I just can't find. I test every one I can. I don't do my own developing, anymore. Mostly since I am primarily a digital photographer now. Printing is done off site also.

That fern is cool. Short cycle.

You are going to love that PittBoss, I have a larger version and it gets fired up at least once a week.

Impressive, everyone.

Our new mailbox:

Actually I've had the mailbox, posts, and mounting bracket and nuts & bolts for a couple of months. But it wasn't until this week that I felt physically capable of installing it all. Quite a job, because a few inches underground in the area we want the mailbox, the soil becomes a rather impenetrable clay. Then I had some problems positioning the mounting plate such that the mailbox sat properly on the short arm - had to saw off a bit of it. Now I need to reinforce the vertical post, probably by driving some rebar a foot or two underground and attaching it to the back of the vertical post with something like a C-bracket; then maybe I'll paint or stain the posts.

I want to put our address numbers on the mailbox - thinking of fashioning numbers of the right size out of wood and using the router to contour them for an nice finished look.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Nice new mailbox, Dave. We usually dig a hole, put the pole in and pour dry, fast setting cement in the hole and fill with water. It's how we set fence posts, too. Works like a charm. Glad you are feeling better to be able to do the work.

Nice matching color tones on Michael's camera, Dave's mailbox, and Grant's smoker.

Grant, I just had some smoked littleneck clams a friend gave me. They were very good. Smokin' days are always good days.
