June 2022Monthly Challenge, Something Older.
#1
Michael suggested “something older, as in nowhere near new” .
Sounds good to me.
Let’s see if we can top our nine pages from last month’s RED challenge. We got our work cut out for us.

Michael, I am sorry.
I saw your post #74  in the RED CHALLENGE where you said:

How about something older, as in nowhere near new?
And I thought you meant that for the new topic.

I am sorry if I screwed up.
LORELL

PS. As long as it is okay with everyone and the fine image that you just posted, we shall continue with that idea.

You got us off to a good start, Michael and Lorell.

Michael, that's almost a classic pickup, isn't it? Kinda sad to see it abandoned.

Lorell, such right warm light.

I have something smaller in mind that's about 40 years old; I hope that's old enough to qualify. Now I just need to find it in the garage.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks so much, Dave.
I going to have a cup of tea while you are rummaging through your garage. Looking forward to what you find and your photo.

Beautiful still life, Lorell. Rich colors, top-notch control of the values. Both emphasize the patina accumulated over many years. The table and background are perfect for the subject. Where did you take the photo? Did you replace or otherwise tweak the image?

Obviously, my image below isn't what I'm looking for in my garage - just an old unidentified car I came across on one of my two morning walks today...

Here's something older. From 1901, referring to the late Queen Victoria. I dug it oit of an opal mullock heap. Two sheets of the Barrier Miner, a newspaper from Broken Hill. One was dated September 1895 by certain artcles as was the other 1901 by the death of the queen.

Here's a copy of the original from Trove: [Image: 7714370050_924efc7e74_c.jpg]

and one on the Boer war.

great stuff everyone!!

The truck isn't abandoned. It is a classic and still is a daily driver.

You didn't screw up, I just didn't remember suggesting it. I have not had a lot of sleep lately.
