Fun photos, Michael. And thanks for starting the Daily for us.

Yesterday I mentioned seeing and shooting unusual behavior by a Great Egret. I'm still working on that series of photos, and may post them in a separate thread, if that's OK.

Meanwhile, here is that egret in my own front yard. By moving very slowly I was able to get about 6 feet from the young bird...

It was sunny and just past noon, so the light was pretty harsh. C&C is always welcome.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Good morning Michael and Dave and thanks for the nice start to our Thursday daily.

Michael, your compositions or sooooooo good. I like the perspective shot in #1 and the SDOF in #2.  Both composed well.

Dave, you got pretty close to this white egret.  It really stands out with the natural lighting that you used.

My daughter's cat is turning ONE shortly but it still acts like a kitten.  It is so entertaining.  She is quite photogenic and we enjoy the photos that our daughter sends us.  She is always "into something", so the photos are always of something different, like this one that she sent me yesterday.

Michael, Good to see your images. They are always cool.
Dave, You must be in the Neighborhood Watch and digital capture division.
Lorell, Daughter has a good eye. Kitten in the bag. Our prefers empty boxes.

Thanks all for the nice reaction to my egret photo.

Lorell, I'm a dog person. Kittens are OK, but unfortunately they grow up to become cats, and I hate cats. Still, I can appreciate kitty cuteness, and yours is a fine example of that. Well done.

Quint, those look like old school Easter figurines. Very nice ones and well photographed.

Hi Grant. If we had a "Neighborhood Watch and digital capture division" I wold be an active member.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Steve, those Easter figurines look like they might be family keepsakes. Have fun with the grandkids.

Grant said, " Daughter has a good eye". When my daughter was a young teen, she took my camera and snapped several photos. When we got them developed and I looked at them, that was the first thing I thought, She's got the eye". I am going to tell her what you said.

Rich, the wind is gusting and whipping and churning all kinds of things around over here. You be careful on your trip. It is a nice thing that you are doing for your friend.

Thanks for starting the Daily Michael. Still enjoying that Leica I see. Smile

Nice egret portrait Dave, and collection on the other thread.

Cats always seem to like to get into paper bags. I can remember our cats doing that back when we had pets.

Nice little figurines. Good composition. She has a good eye as has been mentioned. DW also has a good eye but I can't get her interested in "seriously" taking photos. She will use her iPhone or point things out to me, so at least that is good.

Hope your drive went OK Rich. No fun driving in high winds. We especially don't like it when we are towing the camper. I remember driving back from Kerrville one year and right in the middle of rush hour traffic in Houston I found myself in a heavy thunderstorm. Couldn't see much at all and it was all I could do to keep it between the lines. Not a fun time at all. It as been windy here for the past several weeks but now seems to have abated somewhat. Riding a motorcycle in windy conditions is not fun either.

I've been spending a lot of time playing my guitar and figuring out how to record again (which I finally did). Haven't gotten back my callouses though so it can get painful if I play too long.
