Good morning all. Today is our last full day before we head back home tomorrow morning. We will take it easy today. Yesterday was a full day of exploring the Okefenokee Swamp and then driving over to St Mary's, Georgia for a wonderful fish dinner. We were pretty knackered by the time we go back to the trailer. We will probably take a last bicycle ride around the campground before putting the bikes back on the rack for transport, and we want to check out one more hiking trail by the lake.

I took this photo at an old homestead in the swamp. Hard to imagine living smack dab in the middle, or or less, of the swamp. But it was quite the homestead, just very isolated. This photo was with my Z6. Once I get home and get some film developed I will post some more shots. Maybe some more later today from the digital camera.

Very nice image, Don. One thing that comes to mind is that I wouldn't have expected a porch there to look so clean. I couldn't imagine living in the middle of a swamp.

Yesterday was crazy hot here; the thermometer by my door (in the shade) topped out at almost 89 F (32 C). A few miles further inland it was in the mid 90s. Today should be a few degrees cooler.

I had been trying for some keeper flower shots the other day in the front yard; gave up and was heading back inside when a bit of red & orange caught my eye. So I turned the camera back on and took a few more shots, expecting they'd end up in the recycle bin. But one turned out worth processing...

I've noticed that most of my shots look much darker when posted here; I suppose it's because the background is a pretty stark white.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

WoW Don! That is a wonderful B&W! I like the composition and sharpness.

Enjoy your bike ride.

Dave, another beautifully lit image. Very peaceful! Natures complementary colors!
I think Mother Nature is on vacation. We are getting temps in the 40's and 50's when our normal is  in the 20's. Had rain yesterday and 50 degrees. today back to normal.

Here is another example of my 24 to 960 zoom lens. These were taken in Orange Beach, Alabama from the 25th floor of a condo.

First 24 mm. Looking at the center left you will see people and a speck.

Then about 800 mm

Lastly 960 mm.

That is a wonderful vintage porch photo, Don!
Nice B&W!
Real reverse board and batten siding on the house. Looks great!

Dave, its almost as if you are able to direct the sunlight where ever you want it!
That is a very pretty photo. Color is beautiful and I like the sunlit leaves that are hanging in the background.
Did your area break a record high?
Man thats high for February.

Hi Rich, well thats some impressive zoom!
The color of the surf is gorgeous! Looks deep.

All those beach goers in coats and hats!
Yup..even when I lived in Florida, you wouldn't catch us in the water this time of year.

Well this is from this mornings walk.
Nothing great, but nice to see some color.
There are asian magnolia trees that are flowering already.

Thanks Patty, the weather was not the greatest, 40 -mid 50's, but a little better than SD. Very cold with the sea breeze blowing in!
I'll have some ship photos tomorrow.

Neat photo and well seen. From ruins comes new life!

Dave, I think the park service does a pretty good job of keeping things clean and tidy. When we were on the boardwalk there was a person with a blower clearing off the leaves and debris. Looked like an all afternoon job. That red and orange flower looks nice. Yeah, the background probably does make the image look darker.

24 to 960 is a lot of range Rich. I can do that with 2 bodies and 2 lenses but not just one. Speaking of long lenses, I noticed that I really felt that 150-600mm lens more than I ever had yesterday. Really had my shoulder aching. I'm sure age is a factor but I'm hoping to get out more and get "back in shape".

Flowers blooming already and I think it is going to get cold again. I know that I will have to immediately winterize the trailer as soon as I get  home tomorrow, or Sunday at the latest because it is supposed to get below freezing Monday night in Columbus.

I have about 7 or 8 4x5 sheets to process and one roll of 120 to do. I can only do 6 sheets at a time so I will have to do 2 tanks of chemicals for the 4x5 film. I will probably do a roll of 35mm along with the 120 so I can save a little time there.

Here is one of the historic churches we visited, along with a shot of the Pressman set up for a shot of the church. Hope it comes out on film.

About time to get the charcoal going - grilling some steaks for our last night here. We will get on the road as early as we can in the morning, within reason of course. I'm going to stop by a CAT scale and weigh the trailer and truck, just out of curiosity. See y'all.

Wow, Rich, that was bit chilly for the beach! I would have to bring a thermos of cocoa!

Don, that church is so very pretty! The light reflecting blue in the windows gives it a beautiful,
Surreal glow! I would be thrilled with this one if I were you!
Wow, look at that camera rig! Is that the camera that takes sheet film?
Very cool! Is that a Markins ball head?
Tow and trailer weight….that will be interesting. Have a safe drive home!

Don,
Wow, look at that camera, very cool for sure. I bet when you set that up in crowds, people stop and ask you questions. The church is quite ornate. Love the colors surrounding it. It almost looks like the grass is starting to green up, MAYBE?

Speaking of GREEN, wow PATTY, that is a lot of green going on there with your Daffies. Is that a tree stump left over from when your husband cut down all those trees in your yard? That trunk has quite a large girth.

Rich, I cannot believe the reach you have on that camera. That is a crazy zoom, 960mm. And your arms don't hurt from carrying the camera around. Not too bad focusing too considering far away you are on the 25th floor. WOW!

Great camera Don.

Must win the lottery one day.

Speaking of colour. The bush around here in Feb., is usually dry drab greys and browns.
However, with a wetter than almost ever spring/summer, things are a little different out there.
These are Calostemma purpureum or Garland Lily.

Thanks for the comments about my red/orange floral.

Rich, the range specs on that lens are indeed impressive, as is your series of images.

damar, it's always nice to see and capture winter color. No, I can't direct the sun's rays, but I have trained myself to detect them. Although I didn't check, I have no doubt there were some local temperature records broken. More to come. I expect.

Don, beautiful shot of the church, and I love the one of your Pressman.

Hi Lorell.

MFI, that's some nice color. And your closeup of the flower is lovely.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
