I figured I'd get one more post in before Don turns out the lights.

I wish I had a better photo, but this is all I have - a shot of some flowers in a large tub in our front yard.

Without checking the image's file name, can anyone guess what sort of plant this is?

As indicated, I suspect the site will disappear soon. Before that happens if anyone wants to keep in touch, please PM me with your email address and how to see your images om other sites (Flickr, other photo sites where, maybe some sites displaying paintings - whatever you feel comfortable sharing. I'll respond with my email address and a link to my photos on Flickr.

In the meantime, have yourselves a good day.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, maybe squash?
Yes, unfortunately, if this site is costing Don money I wouldn't blame him for shutting it down. It's too bad that phone photos, which have good quality, seem to stay on the phones.

Here is one last hurrah from me, a watercolor of the Church in Taos, NM. I took a trip there in the last century, always wanted to say that! Big Grin  After I got home I noticed a large format B&W print from Ansel Adams of this church with a similar viewpoint.

I have your flickr account Dave and you have mine but not too active on it. I will be if this one shuts down.

Hi Rich, and thanks for responding.

No, I don't think they are squash blossoms.

I don't think this website is costing Don money. still, given the low activity level it doesn't seem practical to keep it going.

Wonderful painting! One of your best, IMO.

The sky is expertly rendered, as is the green foliage. Nice job on the church, wall, and gate - good values and excellent brushwork in all areas of the painting.

If I have your Flickr account URL, I don't know where I stored it. Maybe somewhere on my external drive, or maybe lost due to a drive failure.

I keep promising myself that I'll put more time and effort into watercolors, but I haven't yet figured out how to compensate for my hand tremors. Do you have any suggestions about a website that has a watercolor section?

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thanks for the nice comment Dave. Here is a link to a page of watercolor info and lessons.

Hey guys, no plans to turn out the lights anytime soon. I haven't been posting because I just haven't had anything to post. However, DW and I will be doing a Great Lakes cruise in a couple of weeks so maybe I will have something worthy to post when we get back.  And as far as costing $$, the only cost I have is the annual cost of the domain name, which is only about $25 or so. Actually, I just renewed for another year, so keep posting.

The only activity lately is you, Rich, and MIB. Even Lorell hasn't posted in almost 2 months, so not sure what has happened with her. Most of the rest of the members have pretty much stopped posting or checking in. Interestingly, Dewarp "logs in" every day but doesn't post. Hasn't since May. Must be some kind of automated action. Anyway, I might just start deleting accounts that haven't posted anything for 6 or more months.

I did ride my Spyder up to Tennessee for a few days about a month ago. So here are a couple of photos taken with my little P&S. The falls I visited on the first day I got there, riding in the rain, and the cloud was the last night there. Fun trip but very hot.

I know it has been quiet in here. I do hope all our missing members are well.

Dave's lovely photo is of a member of the Solanaceae. Most likely potato.

That's a nice little painting there, Rich.

Don has contributed two amazing shots. One of a ball of fire in the sky. Contrasts well with the blues and greens.
The waterfall is just stunningly beautiful.
Sunrise this morn.

I'm sure my flickr has been visited by most of the members here at some time or other.

Thanks for the links, Rich.

Don, sincere thanks for giving us this home.

Wonderful photos, as usual. That cloud is magnificent, as is the small waterfall. Both show great expertise in all aspects - no surprise there.

Thanks MFI. Lovely sunrise.

Yes, my photo is of potato flowers. I don't know the species but have no doubt that your identification is correct.

If I thinned out the potato plants I'd probably get larger potatoes, but I prefer small ones for one of my favorite side dishes - SMASHED POTATOES. Boiled to soften them and put on a baking tray to be smashed; then sprinkled with coarse sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, sprinkled with EVOO to promote browning, and baked. About half way through the baking, I add balsamic vinegar and maybe some hot Thai pepper flakes that I still have from last year's gardening.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Hi folks

I actually log in just about every day, mainly to look at the pics (I don't much read the content!). I'm not much of a socialiser. For some time I started posting my club entries in my own area in an attempt to do at least some contribution. But recently, I stopped doing that because it didn't seem to be worth the effort.

I occasionally have a look at Wet Canvas. Nothing happening on the photographic department there, but it would be nice if it became what it used to be! Nostalgia.

regards - Pete

Hi Pete.

You and your wonderful images have been missed.

Regarding the old WetCanvas - I agree with you. But apparently the owners felt that they needed to change things in an effort to make it more profitable.

So sad.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
