Happy Hump Day! The week is half over.

Last Sunday's outing to our Central Park didn't result in many good photos.

Here's one that fell short: It's a shot of a Pin-tailed Whydah that was at least 75 yards away, pretty much beyond the capabilities of my camera & lens. I was lucky to get even this poor shot. You can zoom in for a better look at the bird, but the poor quality of the image will be obvious.

The Whydah is native to Africa but seen more and more in Southern California; that's probably because some escaped and more were simply released by owners who no longer wanted to take care of them.

Yesterday I was surprised to receive a tsunami alert on my phone, The massive Russian earthquake could have caused damage even 5000 miles (8050 km) away, as well as all along the rest of the coast. Fortunately there have been no reports of damage so far.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Often things are too far away for the lens. Particularly birds.

Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
