Natalie, Love the mushrooms and the curled leaves on the ground that reminds me of pasta shells. It amazes me how sculputers can capture such emotions on stone, like your sad angel. The angle of the angel is perfect to demonstrate this. Your small town has it all, a Bridge, RR tracks, Power lines, Water Tower, and a lot more. Wow, what a find. And your white rose with the deep black background, is a real show stopper.
Rich, I LOVE LOVE LOVE your IR's. You know how to get the most out of that camera. Thanks for identifying the interesting gas station image. I would have never guessed that was a gas pump of some kind.
Grant, Awesome contrast and clarity in your garden variety.
Dave, Please continue, friend. This is the place to post as many examples as possible. Pippin's shot is perfect. He is so zonked out. I wish I could sleep like that. I cannot look at that and not smile. And the LOW KEY Bookcase is awesome too. A photo like that is intriguing and interesting. There is a definite mood that you created. This is a winner in my book.
I hope I have not missed anyone.
LORELL
And so to continue this great topic...
Thanks, Lorell....and that cauliflower is a great choice for B&W, that texture! Contrasts nicely with the industrial looking warehouse.....Wish I had some to cook for dinner!!
Thanks for the comments on my shot of our dozing Westie. My processing into grayscale somehow made his fur look quite lustrous - unplanned, but a nice look..
Every once in a while I take a stab at urban/suburban photography, and IMO this genre of photography often works best in grayscale. Here's a shot from this morning, taken behind the local mini-mall...
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

I had my first photo job in a long while. A long time client. He draws portraits in charcoal and graphite. Although I imaged the work in colour to capture the yellow hue of the paper this is a gray scale....
He is a remarkable artist. His simple Lines suggest / Even his electric eraser indicates fluffy hair. he is talented. I suppose when any artistic endeavor engages a viewer / listener to become part of the process then it can truly be called art. BTW his handle is Charcoal Man / His name is Doug Boomhower. I wanted to give him credit. If allowed I can link to his website....

Natalie, awesome close up of the muishroom in all it's glory. I can't do the "wet belly" photography anumore.
Thanks Lorell! Wonderful cauliflower shot. Lots, of interest in this one!
Dave, good one, tells a story.
Edit: Brain and eyes not coordinated.
Grant, I am quite impressed by the portrait. Amazing work. We are our "own" forum. I would say it is fine to post the link. If not then Don can edit it out.
Natalie...WoW!! First thought that came to my mind was the song Crystal Chandelier. Beautiful!
Grant, When I saw your charcoal drawing, I thought maybe it was a portrait that you took and then applied a filter to it to make it look like a sketch. This is really nice and I cannot wait to visit The charcoal man's website. I am happy that you got a job assignment. I bet you miss pleasing the customers. I know your work definitely makes the happy.
Natalie, beautiful and clear water pearls. I love it. The contrast is outstanding too.
Dave, you definitely captured the foreboding threat of the storm on the horizon.
Peter, This looks like it was taken years ago. I like the soft feel of it. It agrees with the feathers.
Well, my cauliflower was a miss last night. It was the very first photo in the clubs review last night and there was nothing but silence. Oh well.
But you should have heard the crown when this one came up on the screen.
This was a daytime shot turned into night. A added the moon to the composition and according to the comments from all, it was a hit.
What a big bird, your magpie is. I have heard much about them, would love to see one someday!
Thank Rich...will have to google Chrystal Chandelier!
Grant, Is this a liatris? Looks feathery, love the muted, blurred background. What a great photo of the charcoal artwork! I will look up his website too. He is a great artist!
Lorell, It definitely does work. Love it! Has a spooky look to it. You did a great job adding the moon. I don't think your cauliflower shot deserved silence!! It was a very good market shot!
