The photo of the cricket is superb.  My photo of the trees looks so flat by comparison.  Here's one with a bit more depth.

Welcome Que Sera.
I do get the sense of a goodly walk on the green. Wink

Lovely scene, Que Sera. And you certainly achieved good depth in your second posted photo.

Excellent photo of that rather scary looking creature, MFI.

Some of this morning's photos (taken over about 90 minutes as the light changed) showed strong light & dark contrasts, interesting (to me at least) shapes, and a range of sharp vs soft focus. All those aspects appear in this one, which seems rather abstract...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

ooh I like that.
Elegant in its simplicity, enigmatic light and shade.

Dave, I do like the abstract appeal of your image.

Here is a photo that has been on display at the local library since before the pandemic. I finally was able to bring it home. From an Artists Guild member exhibition - it was one of the works the library wanted to keep on display "for a year", which turned into much longer when they closed the library because of Covid. I thought it fit well with this month's theme although I have posted it before.

Thanks MFI and Que Sera. "Elegant' - that's a first for me. And "enigmatic"? Usually that's only in the sense of What the heck was he thinking?

Very nice, Don. I remember liking this one when you posted it before, and it's worth the second look.

Well it was simply elegant and mysterious. Smile
Photography is a lot about technique in combination with a modicum of artistry. Even though it is all a trick of the light.

That's lovely, MFI; soft, soothing, almost ethereal.

Succulents in the low-angled morning light...
