Nice Peter. I have a similar shot from Iceland that I might post later. Meanwhile, in our travels, we came through a lava field that was almost entirely covered with moss.

The frozen spray is an interesting phenomenon, Don. Ditto for the moss covered lava - neat photos.

Oh there's quite a bit of that. Looking down at mosses ferns and lichens, I mean.

Then of course there is looking up.

As to moss on lava. One would normally imagine this to be because it was long ago that the lava was hot.
