Weekender April 5-6

Three top quality photos, Don. Each is interesting and engaging it a unique way.

Hi Rich.

MFI, that's a very impressive photo: great values, fine colors, and ideal sharpness.

Sorry I haven't been contributing much lately. All sorts of things going on in our lives recently, some troublesome and others quite beneficial, but all need to be dealt with.

I did get out to the wetlands with my photographer friend Sandy. A beautiful morning, but very few birds. Still, it was a great morning; As I've said, the worst day visiting the wetlands beats the best day spent inside.

I did manage this photo of Great Blue Herons (yes, there are two of them; one obvious and the other is slightly lower with it's back turned to the camera. It's nesting season for the large herons; here at the wetlands they nest in tall palm trees.

The herons were rather far away, and a bit beyond my equipment's abilities. For no good reason, I chose to keep the airplane in the crop, hoping the photo would raise interest by capturing the two modes of flight. But I doubt that this was the right decision.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
