It's not uncommon for me to overly be unsatisfied with an image of mine, while others find it to be quite good. Either I'm a poor judge of my own work or you folks are easy graders. Maybe some of each.
Lorell, speaking of creative, your high key image is lovely - delicate and with graceful calligraphy-like lines. Impressive image! It has inspired me to look for a suitable photo of mine and try for a similar effect.
Wishing you a successful surgery next month, and a quick and comfortable recuperation.
Rich, my first thought of your photo was that it such a superb composition. The road takes the eye deep into the scene, while the tree shadows across the road slow the eye's trip and also minimize the impact of the road's straight lines.
It would make a fine watercolor.
MFI, I admire how you can say so much with just a few words, BTW, I'm imagining a watercolor of Rich's photo featuring Aussie vegetation and colors and perhaps evoking the sense of a billabong.
I agree that we are easy graders and polite posters.

I too have thousands of images that I don't think are worth showing to others. Years ago when I was doing mainly colour slides, we had a surrealist artist staying with us for a short while. I found him in the room I stored stuff, going through these boxes of cast off slides. I asked what was he up to and said these aren't worth looking at, "On the contrary", he replied. "I'm getting heaps of inspiration for a painting I'm doing. These are excellent for the purpose".
A billabong is essentially the same thing as a bayou. In Geography, they are oxbow lakes.
Happiness simply is.
