No, I didn't buy a new monitor because I've been quite happy with the one I got a couple of years ago. It's a fairly wide BenQ monitor that has worked well with the old computer.
I believe the problem is that this monitor uses a common type of HDMI cable but the new PC doesn't appear to have an HDMI "port" (or any other recognizable common monitor port) available.

But suspect that I may have just 2 bad options: 1) replace the expensive monitor, or; 2) return the new computer.
