Dave, I am glad you are getting some rain though it might mean destruction and flooding for some. Yikes, I wish mother nature would get it right.
Thanks for starting our daily with a bit of greenery.  The grass in our backyard looks rather green actually.  I just noticed that today. Our temps have been on the mild side of cold thankfully, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Oh so cool, Rich.  I love that composition with the sailboat in the foreground.
I have something nautical  to share.  I went to the car museum yesterday afternoon so that I would have some new photos to share. He always has some new things to look at, like the cool thing I photographed below.

If  you have the time,   go check out the "What Iz It" challenge.  I took some photos this morning to keep that challenge going.

The owner of the car museum also likes to collect cool memorabilia.  He has cars from The Great Race, Chitty Chitty Bang Band, and several more.
Well, yesterday I spotted this E.O.T (Engine Order Telegraph).  An engine order telegraph or E.O.T., also referred to as a chadburn, is a communications device used on a ship (or submarine) for the pilot on the bridge to order engineers in the engine room to power the vessel at a certain desired speed.  The pilot moves the handle around to the speed desired and that rings a bell.

The The engineers hear the bell and move their handle to the same position to signal their acknowledgment of the order, and adjust the engine speed accordingly. Such an order is called a "bell", for example, the order for a ship's maximum speed, flank speed, is called a "flank bell"

(I had no idea this is how it worked until after I looked it up just now.)

This was not the actual EOT used on the Titanic (oh really, Lorell?) BUT IT IS THE ONE THAT WAS ACTUALLY USED IN THE MOVIE, The Titanic.
Does that count?
