September Challenge - Selective colouring. Part Colour part B&W
#6
Yes, definitely a good start to this Selective Color Challenge.
Don, I always like that photo and think that it is perfect for this challenge.

Natalie, Thank goodness we have sliders in our software that make it easy to create selective colors like the reds in your Ragged Andy Image.  One of my favorite photos of yours that also was sort of selective color was the one taken at an entrance desk to a hotel (or something like that).  The blacks and whites were so sharp and then there was a vase of red flowers.  If I remember correctly, it was a "natural" selective color.  It was so good though, I hope you post that one again here in this challenge.

Grant, Love the bee. Selective color definitely accentuates that subject. But because of the nice highlights, you still notice the pretty flowers.
The landscape photo looks like the sky is blue and the clouds are orangy, did you mean to keep two colors?

Dave, I think desaturating the background also works really well for this hummer composition.  Pushing the boundaries on this one paid off.

I like it when these challenges give me an opportunity to go through my archives and use some images that I passed on previously but feel that they may now satisfy the challenge. However, when I took this photo several weeks ago, I thought this would make a very good selective color composition not knowing I would get to use it so soon.
