Hi guys, I got nothing to share because I have not been taking photographs lately.
I have been busy with other stuff. Recently I picked up a new hobby. Quilting. Oh dear, like I need a new hobby.
I am afraid that it is interfering with my photo hobby, however.
I was all set to take photos today though. Our photo club had a field trip scheduled for today. We were going to the RIVERWALK which is in Downtown DETROIT. It is a beautiful scenic walk along the Detroit River. The walk travels in the back of some beautiful huge office buildings and if you look across the river, you are looking at Canada. Unfortunately, it is all cement with little opportunity for shade and shelter. At least that is how I remember it from 10 years ago.
At about 9 o'clock last night I got brave enough to call our president and tell him that I didn't think I should attend. We weren't going to get downtown until 2 pm. There were heat advisories in effect and I didn't want to be a burden to anyone or fall apart on the journey. I am so glad that I did that. Heck, right now it is 92 outside. Even this morning at about 11, it was so steamy that I had to come in after watering my flowers.
Well, I wasn't the only one who thought this way, and the trip got postponed.
Sorry about my lack of participation lately.
Steve, good luck with the state fair. Is this year's tomato as big as the one from last year that you entered? My neighbor gave me one of her ripe tomatoes from her garden. She started her garden about 2 weeks before me. She has grown the most delicious yellow string beans. I am lucky that she has so much because she has been sharing them with me. Your OOB bus creation is a winner. I like the style and use of artistic embellishments. And good luck with your photo entries. Keep us posted on how you do.
Grant, So sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. Her husband must have died young. Such sad times for all of you.
Don, Are you experiencing cooler weather down there in Georgia? It is just brutal up here. I wonder how it is to ride on a bike in the heat like this. I know you have the breeze in your face but you still have a helmet on, long pants and probably a leather jacket for protection.
Rich, Your town is the place to be. There is always something going on. Lucky you, so many opportunities. How is parking in your town? You never complain about finding a place to park or do you ride your bike to town? I am wondering with was written on the sign that the girl is holding. And who was looking at her sign?
I got to start thinking about dinner, but not in the mood to cook today. Not in the mood to do anything. Oh dear!
Stay cool and safe everyone.
