Thanks Lorell!
The Stevie Wonder mural is pretty amazing in size!
I also like the "Detroit" banner underneath which looks like a large postcard!
Nice photo!
Hi Dave,
Awww the greens are pretty and the touches of dry brown are the fate of the
tree. I hate to see them discarded like that.
I am pro re-useable tree for our household but don't care if others buy real trees.
For awhile when I was living in FL the city was gathering them up and putting them out in
the ocean to form artificial reefs (yea, thats what they said about used car tires too!)
LOL
Yes, Lorell,
When drafting a pattern, its easiest to just draw it within
the finished size square (if "square" is applicable) and then cut the pieces apart and add 1/4" seam allowances.
I don't think anyone could invent a quilt block pattern that has not already be made because most of them are basic geometric designs.
Of course, crazy quilts are always unique: every single one of them.
Right now, I can say there are 14 quilts on the spare bed, under a sheet. Most of which I made in the last 3 years.
(all sizes from crib to queen) never been used. If anyone in my family asks for a quilt, they can come over and pick out what they want, but I made each of my kids quilts about 2 years ago. (grandson is always included as "one of my kids" as are spouses of aforementioned)
I always save my design sheets in a binder with notes, dates and construction details. It's like a diary now.
I almost always design my own quilts and have only a few times, used someone else's design.
Its the freedom of being a mostly "scrap quilter".
I do plan to make an Amish quilt one of these days.
