TGIF everyone.

I've been going through more of the Burrowing Owl photos I took two days ago, and it seems I have more good ones than I thought at first. Here's one I processed a few hours ago...

Tomorrow I'll pause with the owl photos and share a shot of a different bird - either of a Great Blue Heron or of a Snowy Egret.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Another good capture Dave. I posted one of a Burrowing Owl in the last thread.

I've been having computer issues. A few days ago I tried to start the computer and nothing. After some trouble shooting I decided the box was shot, likely the mother board, and picked out a new computer to order. But I went back and did some more digging, including trying another power supply that I had in the closet, and got it to work again. I did have to order a new power supply as the one I was using did not physically fit correctly, but I was able to use it until the new one came. I ordered on with the same part number, but when it arrived one of the connectors had 6 pins rather than the 4 pins required, so I ended up having to cut the 4 pin connector from the old power supply and after selecting the correct wires from the new power supply, modify the 6 pins to 4 pins. While I had the computer all torn apart, I installed an 8TB hard drive to transfer my photos from the existing 4TB drive, which was almost full. It took all day to copy the photos from the old drive to the new. But I finally got it all back together and working. Not a fun way to start the new year.

Thanks Don.

Yes, I saw your photo in Thursday's Daily - superb image!.

I had similar PC problems last year. Just all sorts of strange behavior: often the many shortcuts I had carefully arranged on my desktop reverted to default positions. Or apps would appear to stop working in the customized way I had specified. I too thought the boot drive was failing. So I bought a new PC (and I'm still reimbursing the account from which I withdrew the funds.

Then months later I got an email from Dell that the BIOS was faulty (and had been from day one).

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, excellent photo!

Don and Dave, sorry to hear of the computer problems. Good you can fix them yourself. I just take mine to the downtown computer Dr.

I don't have a decent bird photo so here is the start of Highway 1 in Key West, FL

" The starting point of the Overseas Highway in Key West, Florida is US 1 Mile Marker 0, located at the intersection of Whitehead and Fleming Streets:

The Overseas Highway is a 113-mile stretch of US 1 that runs through the Florida Keys, connecting the Keys to the mainland. The highway is marked by green mile marker signs, and locals use them to give directions and provide addresses".

Thank you Rich.

Your excellent photo captures quite an major milestone. It's fun to see photos of interesting and important places like this.

As is often the case, it's rather serendipitous how one manages to get good photos. For my owl photo above we got help from numerous photographers at the wetlands who pointed us in the right direction to find the Burrowing Owl. We were among a number of others eager to get a shot, but there was no discord at all about where one settled in a spot. Photographers are a friendly lot.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Rich, That is a cool photo. OH MY. I wonder how many photos of that sign I would have shot. I never just shoot one.
Thanks for sharing.

Dave, you really had a wonderful outing with your photo friend. Have you travelled other places with her or have any planned in the near future? Keep us posted.
