Greetings all. Getting quiet here again. Hopefully after the holidays it will pick up.

Here is a street scene from Nashville, TN. I gave it a little color saturation bump as it was a dull day.

Good morning, Rich.

I enjoy your street shots.  This one is cool with the two gals on the scooters passing by. WOW, what a cool building with all of those openings on the side.

Well, tonight is our annual Photo Club's Christmas Party.  I have been busy with my PT, working on a quilt that needs to be completed for a Christmas Present, and trying to resume some of my normal activities around the house and out in the real world as well.

My doctor ordered an IRON INFUSION for me a month ago after my "ULCER" incident that landed me in the hospital following my hip surgery.  Would you believe that my insurance company finally approved the procedure?  Since I am feeling a little more pep in my step, I have requested a blood draw to determine my current IRON and HEMOGLOBIN levels.  At noon I am going to see my family doctor to talk to him about it.  I hope my levels have recovered enough that he feels it okay for me to skip the infusion procedure altogether and continue on the track I am on.  We shall see.

But before I leave, it is time to add another photo that I am sharing with members at today's party.

This photo comes with a disclaimer since both photos are NOT mine. I took the photo on the top, but I snatched the bottom photo from the web. This restaurant was within walking distance from our TREE HOUSE in FLORIDA on Anna Maria Island. It was a definite island landmark. It was rebuilt once due to a fire and for years was a favorite for its food and " ambience."

Milton took it out.  It is so sad.
Have a good day all.

Good Morning Lorell! Glad to hear you are getting better and able to go out and about! I hope everything works out to your way of thinking with the Dr.

Too bad about "your" restaurant. Quite a loss! Sad! Wonder if they will rebuild?

We nearly have hurricane winds here, 50 MPH gusts and cold temps coming in tonight and tomorrow. That will push the windchill to below zero. Had freezing drizzle last night. Sunny now and 32F. An Alberta Clipper coming down from Canada.

Have fun at the party!

Thanks for the comment!

Hi Rich. Very cool street shot, for the reasons Lorell noted. And I'll add that the hints of objects & color behind the windows had me trying to discern details.

Good to hear from you Lorell. It sounds like your recuperation is progressing. And I applaud you for taking an active and questioning role in the medical decisions.

WOW! That storm sure did a job on the pier.

One of my walks yesterday (I put in just over 9000 steps - not bad for a 75-year old with a bad back and deteriorating knees) and one part took me to a part of my neighborhood that's not on my normal route. I spotted one home with beautiful flowers as part of a well-designed and well-maintained front yard.

Here's a slightly wide view that captured about 30% of the floral components of the front yard...

Most of the flowers were bright and light colored. But there were a few darker and more richly colored sections. Here's a closeup of one of those...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lorell and Dave. The building appeared to be a musical venue with the obligatory pub. Kind of neat with the open front. Good thing they have fence for some that had to much to drink.
Thanks for the comment!

WoW Dave that is quite a hike! Good for you!

The second one is my fav...lots of saturated color!

Does anyone ever come out and ask why you are taking photos of their flowers?

Well, I am ready for tonight's celebration.  It is not the pizza and salad that excites me, but seeing all of the photographs that our members share.  There will be some Oooooooohhhs and Awwws.  I always hope for the best and am always listening to the reactions my photos get when they show up on the TV.

Dave, that was a nice walk. I have to admit, it is nice to see how many steps I take in a day.  That can be a real motivator.  One amazing thing is how much my STRIDE has lengthened.  I am very happy about that. For some time it was a challenge keeping up with my friends and daughter when we were shopping or just walking next to one another.  Eventually, they pulled ahead as I lagged.  I learned something from that.  I was upset when they wouldn't slow down and stay at my side, especially when I was talking with them.  Lesson learned. I will be conscious when others walk slower than me and will change my pace accordingly.

Dave, those are some hardy and colorful snapdragons. I love the combination of the deep red and purple.   Pretty good glooms for this time of the year, but I suspect your flowers bloom year-round.  Keep up the good workouts, Dave.  Just do not overdo it, friends.

Rich, the second of my two photos above is my favorite too, for the same reason as you - the rich, saturated (and dark) colors.

BRRRR. 50 mph winds at your winter temps must produce a brutal wind chill equivalent temp.

My 9000 steps were for the full day, not just the one outing.

In answer to your question - one time a homeowner angrily asked me what I was doing, and I replied that I was taking photos of the flowers. Then I quickly added that if he wished I would stop and also delete the photos. I guess that calmed him down because he said no, it's OK.

I didn't tell him that in California (and probably in many other states and countries) it is entirely legal to take photos of privately owned property as long as one is standing on public property, such as the sidewalk. Google Maps does that regularly for their Street View mode.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Interesting about the legality of street photos. Glad the homeowner calmed down.

Weather service says it is 19 F with 46 MPH wind giving us -1F -18C which would be tragic in your state but not here. Still, I was out twice today but not for long. We have wind chills much lower each winter. Will keep you informed!

Good to see you are well enough to consider others, Lorell. Smile
Dave, they look like mainly snapdragons. Smile

I'm getting ready to head off the the Nation's Capital for Christmas with our daughter's family. The lady from ironbark has already travelled there.
I'm furously trying to water everything here.
This is the weather here this week. The temperatures are in Celsius:
