Looks like the dotted gloves that fruit pickers and gardeners wear.

You are right that it's a glove. But it's not designed for fruit pickers / gardeners (although I can see how these gloves would work well with those activities).
It has a different and specific intended function. Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him! Nikon D7500 with Nikkor 18-300 mm; PSE2021, PSCS5 Ny Flickr Albums

Close enough.
They're actually designed marketed as arthritis gloves. Yes, the beads do exactly what you described: provide a better grip to help open jars. They are also very tight, acting as compression gloves, and this alleviates some of the constant pain for those with arthritis in their hands. Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him! Trying to resurrect this thread, I looked around the house, saw this, and had no idea what it is...
I expect some of you will identify it immediately and maybe others will be stumped as I was. Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him! Nikon D7500 with Nikkor 18-300 mm; PSE2021, PSCS5 Ny Flickr Albums

I was waiting to let others respond, but I suspect this is all we're gonna get.
You are both correct, guys. Thanks for playing. I find this item to be wonderfully designed. From a functional perspective, it's simple and very effective; no unnecessary features that, IMO, would make it harder to use. And aesthetically, I think it's a gorgeous item: graceful lines and forms, and the black and silver looks very good. I believe it belongs to our daughter. She obviously has refined tastes. Yes it is a top of the line design. Elegant in simplicity and practical functionality.
Looks a bit more expensive than a bit of wooden dowel.
