Hope you all have a great weekend.

Yesterday was as crazy hot here as the previous day, but today will be much cooler. Good news, because I'm far below my average daily steps/distance.

Looking through my archives,  I rediscovered one of my earliest (maybe 20 years ago) moderately successful photos from the local wetlands. This shot of a Brown Pelican has many faults (both my equipment and skill back then were just mediocre), but this photo is one of the 2 or 3 that got me hooked on photography.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, It is not a mediocre photo. The plus is airborn and water dripping is also a plus.

Quite a lift off, Dave. They look so graceful when airborne.

Here's a shot from today of some of my tomatoes that I put in gallon pots. Planted deep but they will get tall soon when we some some of your California heat.

 Hi, Grant.

Dave, that's really a nice shot, as Grant said, dripping in flight!! Great wing span!
Hi, Grant!
Steve, your tomatoes are bigger than mine are, I still have them in 16 oz cups....but still too cold to be thinking of planting outdoors.

Impressive tomato plants, Quint. Mine won't reach that state for several weeks, although my radishes quickly sprouted, as has one seedling of a lemon cucumber.

Hi Grant & Natalie.

Thanks for the kind words about the pelican photo. The small size (necessary to keep the file size below 250 KB) of the posted photo hides several faults, most notably some severe color fringing and overly harsh color. Still. it was quite an experience to see this large and usually awkward bird lifting off so smoothly and powerfully and fly straight towards me.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!
