Happy Saturday and hope that you are having a nice weekend.
How about going for a cruise in this sweet ride?

A mighty sweet ride! Would have been fun to have the convertible for my ride down Route 66!

Rich & Lorell,
Beautiful cars. I love that color combination too.
I had a red 57 Chev convertible. Had it in college as a sophomore then sold it cheap the next year when I went in the Navy.

Steve, Was that car a chick magnet?

Possibly, Lorell. A few chicks did go for rides. I wish I had some pictures of it but life was moving quite quickly and not being the best scholar, I did do my share of studying and not too much out playing. I recall two incidents (not magnetic ones). One night in downtown Saranac Lake we left to go back to campus at about 2 am. It was about -10F. It was a 4 speed on the floor and the linkage broke. So we drove back about 15 miles in first gear. Only had first and reverse. Easily repaired later. Another time I was driving a few others back from school for a holiday break. I was pushing the mileage and got too low. Up came the gas station. I ran out of gas, put it in neutral and coasted to the pump and stopped without using the brake. He reached the filler and we were saved. Never got a ticket and still haven't.

Great stories Steve. My husband has memories like that which I have heard MANY times. HE IS IRISH, and so the stories never stop.

Beautiful cars, and loved the stories!! I was just talking with my brother yesterday about how easy it was to work on the older model cars. Today, you have to be an engineer to know even how to put oil in. LOL!! ( can't change a burnt out turn signal yourself, either!! Almost have to take the front of the pickup off to do it!! Who thought up that idea??)

You are correct, Natalie. The battery on my daughter's car died and she had to take it in to get it replaced. The batter is under the left fender of the car. I think the labor was as much as the battery!

The battery on my car is under the back seat! Much easier to replace!

Think about EV's. You won't be able to even pick up that battery and when you need to replace it, it will be THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS!
