Good day, everyone.

Yesterday morning mother nature brought out her most vivid colors and treated us here to a glorious sunrise. I was fortunate to notice in, and stepped outside with the camera; all shots were a bit noisy, but I managed some keepers. I'll post one now, and more over the next couple of days.

This one is looking almost due east from the street in front of my house...

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Good morning everyone. Hope all had a nice weekend. I went down to Jacksonville, Fla to visit family and celebrate my mom's 92nd birthday. DW and I were both planning to go, but then I cancelled the trip due to the uptick in virus cases. But I finally decided that I would go by myself and "social distance" as best as I could. Anyway, I'm back now...

I discovered a boatload of old slides and some B&W negatives in a box under my son's bed and spent several hours yesterday going through them, picking out the ones I wanted to get on the computer, etc. I found this one that I don't remember seeing before. Not sure but I think it was probably taken in Sicily although it could have been when I was stationed at NAS Jacksonville back in 1966. Anyway I don't recognize the person in it. I played around with the image a bit in Topaz. I've got some more old ones I'll post through the week.

EDIT: Hi Dave. I managed to merge the two posts. Great sunrise - I think I have gotten more good sunrise photos than sunsets.

Don, I am going through boxes of negs.  Fun to see history.

Wow, rainbows of colors this morning.  What vibrant skies you have to greet you when you wake up.
Thanks for starting the daily for us, Dave.  I love the purples you see overhead.

Grant, Your sunrise shot is likewise as vibrant.  Is that tree in your backyard?
Your mom was such nice dresser.  It reminds me of how my mom dressed.  She loved by "TOPS". They were colorful and attractive like te one your mom has on.  My mom had blonde hair too.  I love the intensity on your niece's faces.  I wonder what they were baking or prepping to cook.

Don, Looks like you were perched on your bunk bed when you took that shot.  You sound like you are having fun going through the old photos you found at your mom's. Hope you had a nice visit and I bet she was glad to see you. 92 years young...that's great!  You have longevity in your blood. Oh, and I really like the post-treatment you used on your image.

I have no old photos to share with you right now, but a photo of something old that I used for yesterday's Macro Mondays challenge on FLICKR.
I found this camera as I was going through some boxes I had from my parents in my basement.

This is a 1930's Agfa Shur Shot Special!

Wow, interesting the different color palette between sunrise and sunset. Sunset has more pastel pink, yellow and purple and sunrise more vibrant with fiery orange and purple. Both captivating.

1930's Agfa Shur Shot Special! Did it use 620 film? I think you can still get 620 if you want to put a roll through it. Smile Nice closet find though.

Great shots everyone. I'm diggin' the nostalgia vibe.

Lorell, of course, has a shot that caught my eye. I am a sucker for classic cameras.

Never see Polaroids very often, soooo, here's one.     Right click>open image

We took the pups to a groomer today. On the way emergency vehicles passed us. We encountered a single car roll over and flip.We waited for an hour while firefighters cut off the roof and ambo drivers stabilized the accident victim.
