Dave, that is a wonderful shot, it almost looks ominous. I love a good shot that brings out the clouds. I can't find a real good one, but, I'll add this to the thread.
Thanks Michael, I emphasized the drama in processing the photo - it actually was not ominous at all. Cloud shots are fun, especially ones like yours with most of the image dedicated to the cloud formations and only a small strip of land at the bottom to anchor things. Nice one.
Grant, tornadoes are very rare here in SoCal. But I experienced them up quite close in my younger days in Michigan and Ohio. Scary things - my Dad and his best friend once had to abandon their golf clubs and run from a very destructive tornado in southern Ohio.
Wonderful clarity and depth in your photo - nice image.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Dave, If I saw that cloud here I would head for the basement!
Michael, nice, wide open spaces where the deer and the antelope play!
Grant, beautiful! The cloud dead center, reminds me of a sonogram of a fetus. The golden sky and clouds look so smooth. Good light reflections off the water.
I can do clouds, but not from around here.
Loved looking at all of the various cloud formations, colors and shapes.
Here's is one from Anna Maria Island, the only place that I am able to increase my collection of cloud images.'
Grant. That looks tack sharp. The reflection of the clouds is wonderful! The contrast of light and dark over the sea is such a relaxing shot.
Rich, that is a textbook example of why IR photography can be such a great medium. What a great play in monochromatic visuals.
I am not familiar with Anna Marie Island, but tis makes me want to go there. The interplay of the light and dark coming through the clouds is dream like.
No, not the Midwest. I was on the Lake Murray Dam looking towards Columbia, SC. If you look and the middle third, bottom to the right, you can just make out Cola.
I took this with the 23mm Summicron which is attacked to the X TYP113.. So this makes it a 35mm field of view.
Some really nice cloud photos here. I was going to post this one in the current daily, but since it had some clouds I decided to put it here. This is from 1975 when DW and I took a motorcycle trip from Birmingham, Alabama to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We were in our mid 20's at the time. It was a fun trip. As I mentioned in the Tuesday daily, I have a lot of old slides and photos that I found yesterday that I will post as the week progresses.
Since we weren't fully packed in this photo, we must have been out exploring the area in the GSMNP that day. That is DW sitting on the stone wall.
