Good day folks.

Here's a type of poppy, commonly called The Fried Flower, taken back n 2005 (or earlier)...

Later today I'll be having cataract surgery. Gotta admit that having someone slice into my eye is a bit unsettling. Once this first eye has healed I'll schedule the same thing for the other eye.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Best of luck with your surgery Dave. My eyes have been great ever since mine were done

I hope surgery is done and you are healing. I had mine done years ago.

Interesting poppy!, well exposed. Perfect name!

Other than a one hour delay the surgery went so well (confirmed at a post-surgery exam today) that they're saying they can schedule the other eye in 2 to 3 weeks instead of the usual 4 to 5 weeks. Still working the scheduling out, but it'd be be great to have it done soon.

The injection they gave me (in lieu of general "knock you out" anesthesia) must have been pretty powerful - I was very buzzed. When they did the quick surgery all I saw was bright white light, then swirling vivid colors that soon morphed into weird distinct shapes & objects. No pain at all from the incision. No discomfort at all the next day.

Just 1en minutes after the actual surgery I was wheeled out to the car and my daughter brought me home.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Yes. Cataract surgery is awesome stuff. I did have a small problem with a bit of fluid which caused the optometrists some concern though it wasn't a problem for me. After a few weeks the optometrists said it had all cleared up.

Good news Dave! I had a minor problem on one eye but cleared up OK. They do it quick. My Daughter is an RN in an eye surgery clinic in Rapid City. Second largest City in the state. One of the DR's does a bunch of them a day, usually on Mondays. I am thinking 20 or more. Will ask her for sure.

I rarely get notifications of a new post. Will check my settings again.

Hi Rich.

My surgeon also does a bunch of procedures. but only on Wednesdays. And I agree that the operation is very quick (about 20 minutes for me.)

I have my date for the left eye - June 17th.

Yesterday I noticed that I can see stuff on my PC monitor better with my glasses off. I take that as a significant milestone. But my left eye has a different visual impairment. So for the next month I'll need to always have my glasses with me, sometimes on and sometimes off depending on what I'm looking at and how far away it is.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Will probably take a bit to get used to and maybe a new pair of glasses.

All in good time. Things will take a little while to settle down. I now only need spectacles for things like looking at watch parts. I was at the stage where I needed spectacles to read street signs while driving.
