Greetings all. Something a little different today. The photo shows a hitching post and a large rock from the late 1800's. This is located a block from the Corn Palace, AKA Main street. The first Palace was built in 1892. The rock was there to keep the ladies shoes and long dresses away from the muddy streets and also ease of exit from a carriage. I believe if memory serves me right that the house and garage were part of a livery stable close to the Palace. Will check with the historian at the Historical Society for sure. Will post a photo if that is true. In case you are interested in western history I am the Webmaster of our Historical Society. Here is a link.  https://www.mitchellcarnegie.com/ We have a Back In Time page that shows many photos of our town and others nearby.

Interesting history about the hitching post and rock, Rich.

A photo taken 2026/05/10 of a new succulent.

Minimal processing was needed. In RAW editing just choosing a good Adobe RAW color version, a modest bump in clarity, and a touch of sharpening. In Photoshop only cropping, selective sharpening and removing some distracting bits. No adjustments to values or color intensity.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Thank you Rich.

As I mentioned above, the photo needed little processing - the  shot practically took itself.
