Dave, well seen and processed! I really like this. The shadow makes the photo!
Extremely disappointed in our rodeo parade. Turned out to be mostly vehicles advertising their business. In years past we had a lot of floats and horses. I will find something and post soon.

Thanks Rich.
The egret was so strongly backlit that it took a bit of work to brighten it and to increase the color saturation to a level that I liked.
Sorry the rodeo parade was a disappointment. IMHO the advertising is in the top 3 most despised industries, just behind politicians and lawyers. It is rife with deception, lies, unauthorized tracking and accumulation and selling of our online activity, and outright criminality (I've been on the Do Not Call list since day one and I get scores of illegal telemarketing a week). I hope there is a special place in Hades for these lowlifes.
Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

It is a rather impressive effort Dave.
Here's a bit of Australiana for you. With my son and his son(the Norwegians) walking on Mulligan's flat. Which isn't really all that flat but it is flat-ish compared to the rest of the area. It is a conservation area in Canberra. We didn't get to go spotlighting in there to observe the nocturnal activities because my daughter came down with migraines. Most of Australias animals are nocturnal.
Yrs the mature female is carrying a joey in her pouch.
Eventually the become too large for the pouch and reluctantly have to leave.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Interesting Peter.
I didn't realize the joey stayed in the pouch that long. A heavy load!

Thanks MFI.
I sure enjoyed your photos.
I didn't know that most of your animals are nocturnal, and I'm wondering why they are. Relief from the brutal summer heat makes sense, but of course that doesn't hold for your winters.

They evolved in isolation from the rest of the world and Australia though largely desert now was tall dense rainforest beforehand. This behaviour is due to the hot and dry climate with little water typical of Australia. By remaining inactive during intense daytime heat, many Australian creatures avoid getting dehydrated.
Even our winters can have lots of warm dry days.
