Good day to all. And welcome all fellow triskaidekaphiles to Friday the 13th.

One more photo of my Day Lily shots a few days ago...

We are "empty nesters" again. The mama Allen's hummingbird and her 2 nestlings left the nest 3 or 4 days ago. As always, it was a privilege and an emotional experience to watch the mother's hard work to successfully raise her young ones.

I wish us all a happy, productive, and safe weekend.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Greetings Dave! I haven't been getting notifications for a few days but did today. Strange.
A beautiful yellow lily, well done! It really pops off the screen! Glad the hummers grew up and "flew the nest." Thanks for sharing photos of them!

My photos today are of my "backyard" at the condo.
An empty lot they were going to build another condo on in 1995. It took a long time for them to sell all 12 condos in my building so they decided to leave it. Now they are planning to build an apartment complex on it because the apartments to the west, across the drainage ditch (which the developers own) are 97% full. There goes the neighborhood! They have to build a bridge over the drainage ditch for access. No room for a road and we will not let them come through our private property with the equipment.

As you can see, there is wildlife using the ditch.

Rich, I'm sorry to hear of the greedy developer's plans.

I've long believed that the most hated occupations were: 1) politicians; 2) lawyers; and 3) telemarketers. But developers could soon replace telemarketers as the 3rd worst.

And also in the top 5 most hated is (IMO) the advertising industry which is absolutely based on deception and in many cases outright lies.

Thanks for your kind comments about my photo.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

You're welcome Dave. Yes, developers are using up all the land possible. There will soon be no place for all the "critters" to live!
Got a notice in the mail yesterday about a meeting with the city planners and the developers at City Hall a week from Monday. There are many $200-300K+ houses all around the other two sides. Will post a photo of that later today.

EDIT: Added photo of field.

Outright lies. Yes. There's way too much of that which we let go past without objecting.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.
