Good Snowy Morning to you all. Even if you don't have any, I hope you enjoy mine.
I think after yesterday's 4 inches of snow, I may just make a short trip to the park and see about taking some photos of winter landscapes.  That is one of our challenges for next month's club meeting.  Better do it now, next week I will be looking at beach landscapes.

I took this one yesterday afternoon.
I hope you have a terrific Tuesday.

Thanks for starting the daily Lorell. Brrr - looks cold to me. It is 53F here but probably won't get much warmer. No snow though. Smile

Nothing much going on here today. I need to purchase some more bags and rake more leaves but might take today off.

I received this photo yesterday from one of my sisters. There were a lot of old photos I had not seen at the last gathering to celebrate my moms birthday, and I wanted a copy of this one. I was probably 3 or 4 years old.

Good Morning all!
Good capture of the frozen owl! I like the bright yellow eyes in a B&W scene. Back in the darkroom days this would be a perfect one to hand color the eyes!

Don, great photo! You don't look too happy though!

We have been enjoying?? roller coaster temps. Highs in the teens today and maybe 40's tomorrow.

Here is the Needles Eye rock formation in the Black Hills on the Needles Highway. Full disclosure, I add the lens flare in Photoshop and brightened the shadows a bit.

Lorell,
Great snowy pic. Owl stayed put for snow to land that way. The eyes are beautiful.
Don, As you know I am also looking into the families history through old pics. Woderful to see old cars too.

That's a superb photo, Lorell.

Don, old family photographs are treasures, and it's so good to be able to preserve them as digital images.

Really nice image, Rich - nice processing. I am one of those who regularly tweaks my photos digitally (values, colors, adding or removing or moving objects, etc.) and I don't understand those rigid purists who criticize digital processing. First of all, every photo taken with a digital camera (and probably with today's film cameras too) are processed in the camera by algorithms that adjust the image to a greater or lesser degree. Second, they frequently claim that an image that has been digitally processed isn't art. Yet artists whether painting outside or from photos routinely change the scene in the ways mentioned above - somehow this is OK in painting, but not in photography.

OK, off my soapbox.

Grant, lovely delicate patterns and pleasing colors in your photo.

I have nothing new, so back into the Way Back Machine, this time to April 2005 for a shot of a Pacific sunset taken off PCH in Huntington Beach. I can tell from the original file name that the camera used was my first digital camera - the Sony Mavica. Some may remember that it saved images on 3-1/2 disks. With a very low resolution I was lucky to get any image that was maybe worth posting.

Have a good week, everyone. stay safe and well.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Lovely lot of photos here this morn. Well, it is morning for me.

Gorgeous owl shot, Lorell. Smile
Kid in Don's shot almost looks imprisoned for the shoot. Wink
Interesting rock shot, Rich.
The blue fascia boards in the hoarfrost shot complements it in a pleasing way.

Great lines and colours, Dave. Agree with your soapbox rant too.

Couldn't resist a bird shot, thinking more a daylight raptor. Australian sparrowhawk juveniles.
