Good morning to anyone who shows up today. It was a rainy (and windy) night in Georgia last night. Looks like we got at least 1 inch of rain, maybe more. I will be checking the rain gauge at 0700 to get an "official" reading. Right now it is at the warmest temp of the day and will fall a bit as the rain clears and the front moves through. Might still get some showers this afternoon though. More seasonal weather.

From my box of old negatives - a sort of musical still life from the late 60's. Cheap guitars, a variety of vinyl and some Southern Comfort to round it out.

That certainly says late 60s to me, Don. sure takes me back. I recognize Dylan, The Beatles, and The Mamas and the Papas, but can't quite make out the other one. I still have around 100 vinyl LPs from the late 60s and early 70s and keep thinking I should get a turntable and speakers.

I dug into my archives for an old (but not nearly as old as yours) photo. Taken at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands, probably around 2007. I forget which camera I was using then. It's a great Blue Heron on one of the tiny islets in the main channel, back to the strong wind on a blustery morning...

The GBH is North America's largest and heaviest heron: length (or height) of 54" (1.4 m), wingspan of 6 feet (1.8 m). It's often solitary but migrates in groups, and nests in colonies in trees in or near water, and forages in grassy fields and shallow water. It has a deep hoarse call that sounds like the calls filmmakers give to dinosaurs. Quite magnificent in flight, with long and slow beats of those huge wings. If I had to compare its flight to that of a plane I'd say the C-17; not quick or agile, but when it gets up to speed it is mighty impressive.

Don't blame me - I didn't vote for him!

Where is everybody?

I found some negatives I made on Poloroid PN55 film. I was working with a sculpture student and found the film to help.

This was a long exposure and I directed the model to move or hold their pose.

This is a nude from our life drawing class but it is IMHO tasteful. I hope it does not shock you.

It is NOT porn.

We are all born naked. I have always wondered why nudity has to shock people.
I think it is quite a tasteful representation of human movement.
Happiness simply is.
There need be no pursuit.

Grant, it is very creative and artistic.

Don, it looks like your still life was set up on a bed spread. It is fun to go down memory lane.

Dave, I will be seeing many great egrets real soon. Thanks for reminding me.

MFI, ditto.

Will post a photo in the morning in Monday’s daily.

Hope you are all resting peacefully.
