Pete's Images - dewarp - 10-09-2023 Images Each month I publish at least 8 images at our camera club, and put most of these up in Flickr. In future I will endeavour to publish a link to the Flickr version (as suggested by Peter MFI). In September 2023, our set-subject was "Rainy Day". I submitted the following 4 images: This first one was made from an image of rain clouds and an image of an unrelated farm road. I made this image using a shot taken of the wife and myself under an umbrella, and an image of a city street (multiplied many times and superimposed. A shot of two horses in Amsterdam se Bos, with raindrops added in Photoshop. I think that I put this one up in FF earlier. The first was built for a previous set-subject "Colour Explosion" but never used that month. I probably put the original BW version on WC. Here I simply added colour from a circular rainbow gradient in PS. This is a shot taken earlier this year. This is hanging on the wall of a local vintage car museum. The wall was a bit bland, so I used the wall in the above image to provide a more interesting texture. This is a modified shot of our local Theewaterskloof Dam, which provides much of Cape Town's water. You may recall that it was a near desert some years back, and I posted some images of it on WC. The last two seasons have been very wet! These days I edit the camera club monthly newsletter; last month I prepared a document explaining what I did to edit this. I will try to add a link below. regards - Pete RE: Pete's Images - Don - 10-09-2023 Good to see you Pete. Thanks for sharing those images. Very interesting - you are very adept at using the software to produce stunning images. RE: Pete's Images - Man From Ironbark - 10-09-2023 G'day Pete. ![]() Agree with what Don said. Awesome work. RE: Pete's Images - dewarp - 10-10-2023 Thanks for the comments, Don & Peter. RE: Pete's Images - Man From Ironbark - 10-10-2023 I really liked the way the raindrops look like eyes on the window. RE: Pete's Images - dewarp - 10-11-2023 Thanks MFI, I hadn't thought about them in that light. However, I have since decided (after examining many images on the web) that the "eyes" should not all "look" in one direction, but should rather "look" towards the centre line above the frame somewhere. I think that I still have my working psd droplets file, perhaps I will modify it sometime. RE: Pete's Images - dewarp - 10-11-2023 Here are the entries for October, meeting held last night. The Set-Subject was "Backlight or Rim Light". For some reason, our external judge decided that silhouettes do not fall into this category! As result my first two images here were marked down (as did many of the other members' images). Fortunately, the other two were prints, which did quite well, due to the judging being done by club members present.. The "Early Morning Run" also received the Second prize for the night. In the open section, I submitted the following four images: The Gallop by Peter Dewar, on FlickrNeedless to say, we had a club weekend outing to Partenoster a few weeks back! regards - Pete RE: Pete's Images - Dave - 10-11-2023 Very impressive, Pete. Quite a variety of subjects, styles, and techniques, and you master them all. Impossible to pick a favorite, but “Wall and All” really appeals to me. Just saw your second set; also absolutely top notch images. RE: Pete's Images - Man From Ironbark - 10-11-2023 Looks like you are a master manipulator, Pete. I love them all. ![]() Wish I had your darkroom.
