July 2023 water challenge - Man From Ironbark - 07-01-2023 In whatever form you see it. It is our most important and precious resource. At any time, there is only 3.5% of fresh water anywhere on earth. OK, in a lot of your part of the world you are either choking on smoke or uncomfortably sitting out 97˚F at 8PM. Me I'm doing -3<0˚C overnight to 14<19˚C during the day. But a frost is the same as a 100 degree day in the drying out effect on plants and soil. So however you see water, it is a beautiful thing that we all have in common with every life form on the planet. The one thing none of us can do without, for very long. It even does art for us.
RE: July 2023 water challenge - Dave - 07-01-2023 Water! A good subject for a challenge. RE: July 2023 water challenge - Adamphotoman - 07-01-2023 Dave, I agree. I dug this up from my archives. You may remember it.... The Hubbard Glacier [Alaska] Lake Nemekus Bay of Fundy Tideout RE: July 2023 water challenge - Man From Ironbark - 07-01-2023 Excellent start there Grant. My small images of rapidly thawing frost are nothing on a glacier. I've always been fascinated by water and the awesome power it can wield. Love the meandering streams on the sand. Largely we have taken for granted that water will always behave as it has in the past but things are changing rapidly all around us and yet we still heven't put all of this under the magnifying glass of closer scrutiny.
