Thursday, Nov 3, 2022 - Dave - 11-03-2022

Good day everyone.

Two nights ago we got just a little bit of rain, and when I started on my early morning walk yesterday the clouds began to break up a little, allowing the chance of a nice sunrise.

I dawdled and delayed to see what sort of sunrise developed, and I took a few shots. Here's one Suburban Sunrise...

Love the elongated orientation, Dave.  Looks like you had FIRE IN THE SKY.
Thanks for starting our dailies for us, especially since you are up so early and setting things up for us.

We have warm temps again this week.  I hope to get out there today and gather more of the leaves from the lawn. Our trees are bare, but the neighbor's trees are still raining leaves.

For the past two summers, we have watched a deadly disease attack our pine trees up north.  Many trees have been cut down to minimize the spread.  Here is a tree that has been affected. It begins at the bottom and works its way up.  SO SAD.

It is happening right around the world. Ironically because we cut down trees, the climate warms and as it warms, it kills more trees, the very thing we needed all along. https://news.osu.edu/as-globe-warms-infected-pines-starve-and-disease-causing-fungi-thrive/
In Australia weakened trees allow borers and fungi to thrive, pathogens to spread and tree death is imminent. Trees that have been alive hundreds and thousands of years, just fade away and become greater fire hazards.

These things are all a part of the great acceleration, caused by our inability to believe that we could do wrong by the very important global environment. At this stage, our spaceship is crashing and burning.

Dave, that is an awesome sky! Good one! These types of skys and black foreground always look best in a photo. They usually don't work well in a painting for some reason.

Lorell, not good. We have had an Ash tree insect infection the past few years. Lost a lot of trees.
