Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Don - 11-02-2022 Good morning to all - and I'm off to the Great Smoky Mountains this morning... RE: Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 11-02-2022 So you'll be bringing back some great smokin' pictures of mountains? RE: Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 11-02-2022 Can’t wait to see what the mountains will be smoking. RE: Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Dave - 11-02-2022 Safe travels, Don. Hi Lorell and MFI. White Pelican, photographed Feb 2017 and reprocessed yesterday... RE: Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 11-02-2022 A bit of the local bush. ![]() It is illusory for just in behind is a quarry where removal of soil and gravel has been going on for decades.
RE: Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 11-03-2022 I am glad thought that the trees and bushes are green. You must be betting some water this summer. RE: Wednesday, Nov 2, 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 11-03-2022 There is a faint rainbow in the last image. This year hasn't finished yet and it is the wettest year since 1974 already. Our average here is 398mm. In 1974 we had 703mm. So far this year we have had 784mm. We should end up the year with a bigger flood than the 1956 floods which had many communities isolated from the rest of the country for six months and more. Some rural properties will be only accessible by helicopter for many months longer. That mightn't sound like a lot of rain but out here is a lot of flat low lying country. The rivers get more rain in the higher country nearer the coast and overflow all the dams. A friend of mine told me that he had 3.8 metres of precipitation. Yes that's metres, not millimetres and his year isn't over yet either.. |
