Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 04-10-2022 Hello and Happy Days, I already did both of my Sunday fun things, bake and create an abstract image. I baked some doggie biscuits for Ella. She is now following me around the house no matter where I go. They have peanut butter in them and she seems to like them very much. Then afterward, I worked on a photo of a metal sculpture that I saw in a cool store in Florida. When I get done here, I will continue working on my Zentangle Easter card that I began late last evening. I get so much pleasure from all three. I hope you are having a wonderful day. I found my husband all choked up today as he was sitting at the kitchen table and drinking his morning coffee. I asked him what was wrong and he told me that he is just lucky and needed a hug. "Huh?", I said, "you are getting teary-eyed because you are lucky?". And he explained that today marks 50 years since his return from Vietnam and discharge from the Army. And then I understood. He was certainly blessed. And blessings to you all. LORELL RE: Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Dave - 04-10-2022 Nice, Lorell. That image reminds me that you are a master of many different styles. Me? I just keep shooting the same subjects and making images in pretty much the same style, such as this shot of African Daisies... RE: Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Quint - 04-10-2022 Lorell, A touching moment with your husband. Thanks for sharing. A lovely and colorful image. I imagine a dancer somewhere in India. Some years ago a lady brought in a cloth with an ornate Indian elephant and said her husband, who is a veterinarian, brought it back from a recent trip to India. She told me it was a batik and wanted it framed. I took a quick photo of it when finished. Your picture just gave me the inspiration to find it and work it so it is more presentable. I mainly removed glare. Here it is. Dave, that floral color is very nice and they surely pop out at you. RE: Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 04-10-2022 Morning, A purple theme. Good manip Lorell. Dave I will never tire of your flowers. Steve, your Batik reminds me of a number of African Batiks we have. going to hang it in the middle of the room. Sandwitched between Plexi to allow some light to show through. Here is one last pano. This was the view from our deck in Cowichan Bay. I was trying out a lens. Now the Betterlight Scan Back requires setting up a tripod and 4x5 camera of sorts. 4x5 lenses are usually f:5.6 so they are mighty slow. The scan back must be tethered to a computer. It requires a controller and a battery. The line time was equivalent to 1/80 sec, so it took 4 & 1/2 minutes to finish the scan. I was lucky that it was a still day. Again I will show a crop, however, the detail still is better on a full size image. RE: Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Rich - 04-10-2022 Happy Sunday All! Lorell, doing fun things on a Funday! Good for you! The metal sculpture manip is super! Good choice of colors, and I like the angle of it. The Vietnam vets didn't get a proper welcome home but some states and towns are making up for that. I thank your husband for his tough service over there. Bravo Zulu! Dave, a wonderful shot of the daisies! The depth of focus really makes this photo special! It is 3D on my monitor! Steve, that is an amazing batik! Good job on the framing! Grant, I would love to have that camera setup. The only problem is I could only use it a couple of times a year. The wind seldom quiets here. Nice view from your deck! I would call that the Chamber of Commerce view. That would entice people to come to your area of the country! I won't be around much if at all next week but will check out the photos if I can. I have a High School friend that is in hospice care. He lives an hour away. Two other HS friends are coming in Tuesday. One from Oklahoma City, OK and the other from Loncoln, NE. The one from Oklahoma will be staying with me and we will drive over every day. He is flying in. Our weather sounds ugly next week too. Rain mixed with snow. We need the rain but could do without the snow! Have a good week! RE: Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 04-10-2022 Rich, I explored and pioneered mixing film formats and camera lens types to increase the speed of the scan so motion artifacts would not spoil the image. Instead of a rather large rig with a bellows and f:5.6 lenses I opted to use the Betterlight Pano Adapter and SS Globuscope with 2 1/4 /645 lenses which would cover the short side of 3x4 inch scan window. These lenses are f:2.8 and the whole rig is less cumbersome lighter and sharper. But the rig does look like it is a camera on life support. Not shown is the controller, laptop and battery. The Colour Cowbay image of the marina I showed friday was captured in 41 seconds at 1/230 sec so motion artifacts were kept to a minimum. The False Colour IR was 93 seconds. Shooting in IR mode the sensitivity is increased by a large margin, so again motion artifacts are kept to a minimum. In fact mixing different formats was so SUCCESSFUL I could capture boats in motion. This is also a small crop from a much larger pano. RE: Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Rich - 04-10-2022 Grant, WoW, that is quite a camera! Beyond my price range and expertise! Looking at your crop I would say you have fine tuned it quite well! Thanks for sharing that! |
