Monday, February 28, 2022 - Don - 02-28-2022 Footprints. RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - damar - 02-28-2022 HI Don! Thanks for starting the Monday Daily! It should be clearing up here today. Yesterday was cold and soggy. I like the grain in your photo! It really gives us the feel of the sand. The footprints almost look 3D. Fuji X-T20 ACROS (B&W) Tri-X Push RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - Dave - 02-28-2022 Don, I agree with damar - the graininess suits the scene perfectly. Nice! damar, that looks like a challenging mix of values ro photograph, But you nailed it. OK - time for some color (taken in the front yard 3 days ago)... RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 02-28-2022 Don, footprints in the sand. Patty, Rusty old cars. Black & White is perfect. Dave, Luscious.... I have to look for colour or engineer it somehow. Frost on a window screen with sun coming through. A bit abstract perhaps but it's what I have. I don't think I shared it yet. RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - damar - 02-28-2022 Dave your composition looks great! I really like the spikey yellow petals on the flower too. Gorgeous color! Hi Grant! Nothing wrong with the cool blues of winter, but you found some warm glow! Interesting how the frost appears to make spikes going up the screen. This is a bottle of Georgia grown sweet sorghum syrup waiting on the cornbread and pinto beans this afternoon. In Classic Chrome My stove isn't always that cluttered! RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - Rich - 02-28-2022 Cool photo Don! Grain works! No fallen arches there! You were in the right spot at the right time. Patty, space, time continuum of yesterdays photo? Although from this angle it doesn't look like a Ford. Good exposure! Dave, a beautiful bright yellow and nothing washed out! A couple little dew drops too? Grant, The sun really warms up the scene, nice! Could be a solar flare in the cold of deep space, stars and galaxies in the background. Patty, looks like some good cooking going on in that kitchen! Is sweet sorghum Georgia's answer to Vermont's maple syrup? Nothing from me today, just got home from a massage. As I was driving home I had to drive through smoke coming from a small grass fire along the James River. Firefighters and police on duty there. RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - damar - 02-28-2022 Hi Rich, I hope the fire is under control (and it's not too windy) Yes, Sorghum was the south's sweetener. (if sugar wasn't readily available) Sometimes sorghum is referred to as "sorghum molasses" but it is lighter in color and flavor and doesn't have a that slightly bitter finish that blackstrap molasses has. Slightly thinner than molasses. Sorghum is extracted from a crushed grass stalk and molasses is a bi-product of the cane sugar processing. Next time you visit the Crimson Tide State, try some on your buttermilk biscuits...!!! RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 03-01-2022 Patty, Is your gas stove propane or natural? From my archives. Colour. RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - damar - 03-01-2022 Hi Grant! Those are pretty flowers! Our stove is natural gas and so is our furnace. All else, electric. City gas: We’re not in downtown. Our neighborhood (Subdivision) was annexed into town. We have cows, horses and chicken farms around us. But they ran the gas out here and provide other services. RE: Monday, February 28, 2022 - Rich - 03-01-2022 Patty, thankfully not a windy day. Fire is out. Will have to try some of that. Maple syrup is way to sweet for me so I use Honey. Grant, wonderful flower shot. Lavandar and green work well together. |
