Good one, Grant. Many of your ice crystal photos grab the eye because of the complex patterns of numerous individual crystals. This one gets its appeal from its simplicity and a variety of edges ranging from soft to jagged.

I'll add some color. One of the things I enjoy about photography is taking closeup shots for a look at things we usually don't notice. And when the scene combines irridescent green with a vivid red, I can't resist...

Yes those colours pop.
I like playing with curves to produce colourful effects. Here is the same file again but with upside down colour. Hint in curves I follow the histogram.

Thanks for starting our daily, Grant. Oh my, I love your demonstration using the reverse to produce the upside-down colors. That is a real eye-catcher. Way to get artistic.

I love the pastel reds and greens in that nice composition, and also the super focus you captured of the fly. Nicely done, Dave.
