Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 02-17-2022 Hello again. I am up late tonight after putting together nine photos for our local club meeting even though I will not be attending. I like them to know that I am still thinking of them and want to show my support especially by posting some photos that were taken at our club's outings, like the one below. Well, today we finally had to put on the air conditioner. We have not had temps like this in well over a week. Finally, we were able to go out without our jackets! That is a good thing. So, here is one of the photos that I sent in for the club to view at their meeting tonight. Hope you have a wonderful Thursday. LORELL RE: Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 02-17-2022 Lorell, You posted this image in Don's Steps or Stairs challenge. It is GREAT!! No matter what the judges or members comment it is a very powerful image. It is perfect in every way. Be happy that you made it.
RE: Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Dave - 02-17-2022 Lorell, I'm glad the temps rose for you. BTW, a few days ago you asked if the hummingbirds have returned. They do visit the feeders regularly, but I haven't spotted a nest in a couple of years. I'm sure there are some around, but I haven't found any. Great photo! Hi Grant. One subject I keep returning to is the African Iris (in some places it's also called an African Lily, so I don't know which group it belongs to). Here's one from 4 days ago... RE: Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Man From Ironbark - 02-17-2022 It is an Iris. RE: Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 02-17-2022 It is the same lighthouse but a wee closer perspective. I zoomed in on this one when I took the actual picture to emphasize the foreground and the stairs are not present. But I can see the similarities between the two images I shared. I think I like this one more because of the big boulders in the foreground. I also did a little cloning to remove a blue barrier. But I am happy that my stairs shot stuck in your memory and appreciate your high praise. Dave, the exposure on this image is very good where you have no blown out areas. Anspd as usual, I like the colors and softness of you pr background. Good day, Peter. RE: Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Rich - 02-17-2022 Lorell, WoW! A powerful image! The reds contrasting boldly with the snow and blacks of the walkway. The bluish overcast sky is a bonus! The boulders in the foreground, just an amazing treat to the eyes leading into the photo. I like the vignetting too! When I was active in our Camera Club there was one member that always said of certain landscapes that it needs a red color. Which is true in most cases and especially this scene. A grey or white light house and building wouldn't have any impact! Glad you're getting warmer temps. When I was in Gulf Shore, AL the temps in South Dakota were warmer than there, but I had sand and ocean! Dave, lets call it a the Pippin group! I like the cocked head angle! RE: Thursday, February 17, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 02-17-2022 Thanks, Rich. You said: When I was active in our Camera Club there was one member that always said of certain landscapes that it needs a red color. Which is true in most cases and especially this scene.
