Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 02-05-2022 Hello All from Sunny Florida. Well, actually today is the first day the sun is being shy and we have an overcast day. I should be out there taking photographs of flowers right now, but decided I needed to drop in here to say hello and that all is going well. As they say, "The weather is here. Wish you were beautiful. LORELL RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Dave - 02-05-2022 Hi Lorell, and any who stop by later. That's a rather different style for you. Very clean and appealing image. I like it! The last of my shots of a succulent that I dug up then replanted, again concentrating on curves and colors... RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Don - 02-05-2022 Good morning Lorell and Dave - thanks for starting the daily Lorell. Hope the weather holds for you. Nice "Florida like" image. Good one Dave - I have enjoyed your succulent photos. I haven't taken my camera out in a while but hope to get a lot of photos next week. I have found an old abandoned church that is less than 20 miles from where we will be camping, so I'll take several cameras to that. We also plan to pop over to St. Mary's and maybe go back out to Cumberland Island for the day, then have dinner at a great place there in St. Mary's. Pretty sure we will go over for dinner whether we go to the island or not. I dug this one up from the archives. Played around with it in Photoshop which I am still trying to learn. So much to learn. A nice little shot of a Painted Bunting taken somewhere around Tampa, Fl.
RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 02-05-2022 Don, Still learning is admirable. I have a comment on your bird photo. Clone out the bit under the beak and throat. IMHO it is distracting. But it has good bones.... as the saying goes. Lorell, Interesting technique. Dave, More succulent curves.... My birthday AGAIN !! I guess the alternative is less desirable! Hope you guys are not getting tired of my ice crystals. RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Luv2shoot - 02-05-2022 Happy Birthday. Grant. What, no picture of your cake or the special dinner you had this evening? When my birthday came around a little over a week ago, I couldn’t believe it. It seemed that I had just turned a year older when my birthday was here again. I got to think that it has something to do with not having much happening in our lives at this time with each day feeling like the last. Dave, I enjoyed the curves and lighting in your shot you uploaded today, Dave. Interesting movement and flow. How is the back today? Don, looks like you are looking forward to your trip. Will you be taking your trailer? Do you have a heater inside of your trailer? You’ll probably need it. My that pretty bird is colorful. Good for you for trying to expand your ability to use different software. PS is the first photo editing software that I learned. Do you subscribe to the CLOUD? The guys in my photo club are trying to talk me into paying $10/month just to be able to use the new and awesome features in Lightroom. Yes, the transformation on my image was quite extreme, even for me. But for some reason it grabbed me because it was so extreme. I will get back to reality tomorrow. Grant, that frost looks bitter cold. I wonder if you could go outside and create some frozen bubbles. It appears your temps are definitely cold enough. Have you tried that? The designs that firm on the outside of the bubble look a lot like those formations on your window. RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Don - 02-05-2022 Thanks Grant - I agree. I played with it some more, and it is better but I am not happy with the beak. Kind of messed that up. Those ice crystals look like little fairies in flight. Lorell, yes the trailer has a furnace that runs off the LP tanks, and we have an electric heater that we use as well. It also has an electric "fireplace" which is new to us but seems to work well enough. We should be plenty warm. RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Adamphotoman - 02-05-2022 Don, RE: Saturday, January 5, 2022 - Dave - 02-06-2022 Thanks, Don. The Painted Bunting sure is colorful. A good capture, and your processing is making it better. But the background makes it challenging - it would drive me crazy trying to process this one. More ice crystals - keep 'em coming, Grant. Thanks, Lorell. My back? Some days are better than others. Sometimes it acts up for no discernible reason, other times are obviously the result of too much vigorous yard & gardening work. The inevitable physical deterioration of getting older isn't fun, but as Grant noted - it usually beats the alternative. |
