Friday January 21 - Man From Ironbark - 01-21-2022 I'm nearly ready for bed so I thought I'd start your day for you. These are a joy in a sea of dead grass. RE: Friday January 21 - damar - 01-21-2022 Thanks for the pretty start to the daily, MFIB! I hope you are well! The flowers are a welcome site. It's cold and gray here and wont get about 36℉ (with windchill values around 25) This is from this past November; Under the covered bridge in the river bed. (weird color, huh?) RE: Friday January 21 - Dave - 01-21-2022 Thanks for starting the Daily, MFI. Those blossoms are indeed lovely; the colors are gorgeous against the dull grays and tans of the dead grass. Hi damar; I hope you are continuing to feel better. Covered bridges are always worth shooting. I like the composition; the lines of the bridge and supports, the strong pattern of shadows, and the branches and leaves overhead. I've taken few photos recently, certainly none worth sharing. So I again returned to March of 2005 (which was a very good month for me as far as yielding photos that I thought were pretty good.) Here''s a handsome Canada Goose; preening after emerging from the pond at a local park (I like catching birds in unusual postures.) Thanks for the nice response to the water drops shot I posted yesterday. To answer someone's question - although I sometimes carried a spray bottle of water, I think the droplets in that particular photo (taken five paces from my front door) were natural. RE: Friday January 21 - Luv2shoot - 01-21-2022 Hi there friends. I had a nice time at the meeting last evening, it was good to see all though there was a small crowd this month. My photos were well receive and got some nice comments about my dragon photo. Patty, you asked if it was a mural painted on brick. Actually the correct term would be cinder or concrete blocks. The images I shared does not give it a good reference to how large it was and now that I look back in my files, I never got an image that would represent the size accurately. We were in an alley and I could not stand back far enough the capture the total width of the painting. As you can see, I did a major change to the original as far as color, but as explained yesterday, I wanted to add lots of drama. Below are two shots of what it really looks like. Patty, I like the leaves and how they are cascading down from the trees above. They add layers to this interesting and pretty perspective shot of the bridge. It looks like a silhouette. MFI, yes, those beautiful wild purple lacey orchids are a welcomed site. I understand your temps are bloody hot. I hope that you are comfortable and safe. Dave, I think snapping the shutter when the animal has an unusual twist or turn, makes for a more interesting photo. Otherwise, it is just another photo of a bird. And the out of the ordinary subject then forces the viewer to linger to notice additional points of interest, like those big feet, beautifully layers feathers, and handsomely white and black painterly looking face. |
