Rich, that guess is a great example of thinking outside (way outside) of the box and I hope it's correct. If it is, I' have to admire how Natalie managed to take such a photo.

A football came to my mind too, but I thought the item in the photo looked too wet for that to be right.
Seeds still in the fruit? (I thought of pomegranate seeds, but these seem too orange for that.)
